After taking advice from ivobg, I set off for a quick scout around the old field that I found the damaged Roman Fibula, a while back.
1st ding was what looks like some sort of bronze valve?
2nd ding was a small roman coin !!!
This is my 2nd Roman coin of all time.:headbang:
Well chuffed,& a big thanks to ivobg.....:goldpan::occasion14:

that's cool can't wait to see the picture.

Soaked in distilled water overnight, then put some olive oil on...
Still needs more gentle cleaning ?
Would electrolysis be OK ?, I have a tank ready ....

Thanks.
Most of the dirt has just lifted off with a wooden cocktail stick, is it ok to leave in the oil ????

Looks good exactly how it is .

I hear so many stories of over cleaning, so prefer to leave them like this....
They are old after all.
Its amazing watching the detail come through.....just using distilled water & a tiny bit of lemon juice, & a cut down toothbrush.

Very nice! Do you know a date range and type of coin that this is? Great job!

Congrats to you!

Have been told....
