'Murder hornets' have arrived in the U.S. — here's what you should know...

WELLLLLL.... Mosquitos even get in the house sometimes...

Dogs hate em as well... I say the word "mosquito" and they bark.

It drives me a bit looney when the little bassturds get in the house ... wanna know why ? ?

Because they love to hang out under the couch it seems... annndddd do you wanna know why they choose THAT spot ? ? ?

It has become VERY apparent that that particular spot is close to their favorite food...

AND>... do you wanna know what that mostly consists of ? ? ?

MY DAMN ANKLES...

ITs like they bite on top of a bite sometimes .

OH ! ad I must not forget the other spot WHICH they don't get as often BUT IS WORSE...

Top of the foot... Oh eerrrr sheesh man... :/

And I get bit more than anyone ele for some reason... they like my "scent"... heh :/ I don't know wtf.... but ehhh hheh

As of late the stink bug population has dwindled and without any natural enemies I'm thinking an imported predator like the murder hornet could be killing them off. Maybe?

Or you could enjoy a walk at dusk in a marsh along Connecticut’s coastline where the no-see-ums can easily drive one insane.
Like you, honeybees have become something of a novelty here. My Dad was a beekeeper and the skunks, bears and new viruses gradually killed off all his hives. What a shame.

This was just an attempt at humor right and you're really not that small minded? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, though some on this forum, i'm not so sure about.

Not all exclusively Asian inventions in my list, but quality products such as Mori Seiki, Kitamura, Okuma etc CNC lathes and mills. Yamaha musical instruments such as the Grand Piano. Hi-Fi electronics such as Sony, Onkyo, yamaha etc. Yamaha and Honda Outboard motors. Automobiles. Precision measuring instruments such as Mitutoyo. Swords and cutlery. Older inventions include Porcelain, Gun powder, fireworks, the seismograph, Iron and steel smelting, printing, paper, repeatable weaponry etc etc etc.

Could have been I suppose....it was 3 or 4 years ago....but I distinctly remember the yellow heads and my dad saying they were Asian hornets when we were watching them snatch his honey bees out of mid air.....if it wasn't so long ago I'd look in that hole in the tree for carcasses....and would have reported it....back then didnt think it wasn't anything "special" as they were harassing his hives for a few years prior to their destruction......also had a few come in my house at night time when I had people over, through the deck door.....they would just fly around the kitchen light and bounce off the globe.

You know what I don't get... whenever something is invading us... its always here to do harm.

Why cant something invade us and like give us backrubs or foot massages or anything that is "good". heh
 

I few years back I purchased various butterfly bushes off Burgess. One of the bushes that came was a South west variety of milkweed. I live in Northern Michigan. This milkweed has slimmer leaves and flower pods. Last fall it was getting frequented by a super sized hornet, similar to the pic. I couldn't get close enough for a good pic, it chases me, and am not sure how to kill it, or them. I didnt want to spray the flowers because of other stuff feeding. I never thought a hornet that big was around here. I'll have to get a pic this summer when it returns to feed. It sure loves these flowers compared to local milkweed.
 

There are some new methods underway at fighting back on these nasty hornets
