I went into my paypal to get some money out only to see my money was on hold... called Paypal they claimed it was Ebay holding it... Talked to Ebay an they said there is a New Rule they are holding Payments if you do not have 26 sales. I have 23 with 100% feedback that isn't good enough for those greedy mf'ers.. They also said that they are going to be holding money if you do not put tracking numbers in your ebay auction when you ship the item.. I also found out you have to put the tracking numbers in both Ebay & Paypal.. There to lazy to look an into each others accounts to see the tracking numbers.. Even those there linked together...

Ebay shouldn't be blamed for issues caused by buyers and sellers. They stopped taking money order sales for awhile and now they're accepting them again, but I wouldn't take a money order as payment through them period, to much hassle. And there's no evil in tracking numbers. Also Ebay is like a huge garage sale with millions of items to keep track of so there rules are there to protect everyone with no exceptions. And as far as fees, your only option is to sell on Craigslist for free (and deal with the Craigs list riffraff) or post your items in newspapers for two weeks a pop for over $10 per add each time your add is placed with selling anything, then that's your options.
for it. IMHO, Woodstock
You are missing my point!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN NOT GET ANY MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT... THERE IS A HOLD FOR UP TO 21DAYS UNLESS I SEND WITH TRACKING AN THAT TAKES IT HOW EVER LONG IT TAKES TO DELIVER AN SHOW THAT IT WAS DELIVERED ON TRACKING TO RELEASE MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!! SO YA I WILL BLAME EBAY WITH THERE STUPID GD RULES!!!

Have all your sold items been successfully delivered? I think that's why they want the tracking. If not, then they need to hold the money in case the customer is unhappy and it needs to be refunded. The transaction isn't over until the customer receives it.
Hang in there,

Lol, you do realize that anyone new to ebay (such as myself) have to deal with this. too many scammers out there and its easy to sell a fake item then take out the money from paypal with a paypal card to an ATM, then cancel the account. the hold is to protect the buyer and it honestly makes sense.

As a seller myself Creeper I fully understand your frustration. I have about 1000 feedbacks so no funds are ever held for me but my sister has a newer account and the money is held until the item shows delivered. This is to stop the hit and run scammers from quickly collecting a bunch of money and cashing out (as mentioned above while I was typing). I understand that.

Woodstock we all know what EBay is and isn't. EVenting and ERants are healthy. As a buyer EBay is great! As a seller not as good (and I sell more than I buy). I will continue to use EBay but I don't necessarily have to like the rules they dish out, the fees they charge, or the fact that we are forced to use PayPal. They were losing some revenue due to some who padded shipping and sold low. They decided to make us all pay by charging final fees on our sales with shipping included. Should I be on board with that? These extra costs are also driving up prices for the buyers. For right now it's OK but it will come to a point where the deals aren't so great and people will persue other avenues for selling and buying.

As an aside I have met only nice people through Craigslist when selling items I didn't want to ship. No "Riffraff" here.

Wow, really? Does it say "pending" on your Paypal account? Cause I just transfered money today. But it]s money I had from sales months ago. I really can't understand what's going on now but I feel for your concerns. If this happened to me I'd be peed off too. HH, Woodstock
this is what it says Completed - Funds not yet available then estimated date I can withdrawl money is November 10, 2011

That's lousy. I've bought, but selling on ebay sounds like a pain in the a$$

They told my sister (new seller) that once the buyer left positive feedback she could get her money. Personally, I would never ship anything without a tracking number. I learned that lesson the hard way when I had to refund a payment because some clown said they never received their item, which may or may not have been true, but without delivery confirmation it was my word against his. I also was on the other end of this stick once. I bought something on ebay and 3 weeks went by and I never received my item. The seller didn't use delivery confirmation, I got my money back through paypal, then 1 week later my item arrived with a month old postmark on it, go figure. Yes... I did repay for the item.
In other words it's more beneficial for you as a seller to get it than it is for the buyer. It's only 19 cents if you print your shipping labels online, versus 80 cents at the PO.

Creeper I know how you feel. I did everything Paypal and Ebay wanted. I printed my slips off paypal. I loaded the tracking numbers into Ebay and the buyers even left positive feedback and the funds were still held for 21 days. Its a joke as far as I'm concerned. so now im not listing anything high dollar until i hit that 26 sales.

Just thinking outside the box here to see if we can get Creeper his money. What if he created a number of 1 cent Ebooks to be delivered digitally (wouldn't really need to create or send anything), we Tnet ers buy the items and leave positive feedback for Creeper, thereby raising his feedback numbers and MAYBE alllowing release of funds

I too just recently was told there will be a 21 day hold on my funds. I have 100% feedback (45) and have never once had an issue where the buyer was displeased with any transaction I've made. I was told that because I haven't sold anything in the past couple of months, that was the reason for the account hold. I kinda feel bad for the PayPal rep because I really gave them the what for. I mean, I was pretty viscious, which isn't normal for me. I was surprised she didn't hang up on me. But I really don't appreciate being chastised for the simple fact that I haven't sold anything lately.

I personally think this is an attempt by Paypal/Ebay to sit on our money long enough to make more interest on our money. Think about it; millions of small sellers at $20-$50 being held for 21 days? LOTS of interest.

I was recently told my monies would be held as well. I am a member since 2005 with 152 feedback and 100% Rating. Never a dispute nor a delivery issue. I am tempted to start buying and selling on Amazon.

I agree I have 100% too an this is a whole bunch of BS in my opinion.. just like I told the EBAY Rep.. You people kiss the buyers as.. but put the sellers thru a whole bunch of BS AN IT REALLY ISN'T WORTH SELLING ON THERE ANYMORE.. I also told them that if the seller is paying such high fees we should have more rights then the free buyers.. she ask like what? I replied a buyer can leave neg feedback on me ,but since I am a seller ebay won't let a seller leave neg feedback.. it should be we both can neg feedback or no one leaves neg feedback..I have to go thru BS every freakin month with ebay for something or another..an the buyer protection plan just isn't worth it either cause I had 2 people gripe give neg feedback cause I didn't kiss there as... so ebay let them keep my item an gave them there money back... I had to fight with ebay to get the neg removed which they did remove so if there was a problem ebay should make them return the item then give money back cause alot are catching on if they gripe they get the item an money back...

I've been selling for a few years on ebay and just tried to transfer some of my balance in paypal to my checking acct. They held it for a while. Never had that problem before. I have 100% positive feedback, hundreds of feedbacks. Ebay is way too greedy and it's getting close to the point of turning me away.

The technical term is call "Float". It is used in many many business whether the company is aware of it or not. When I worked for a transportation company in WA state, our bank account was located in Anchorage, AK. Why do you ask, at the time the Fed ran check clearing twice a day every working day on 99% of the accounts in the lower 48. They could only run once a day in Anchorage. The checks we would write were in the millions of dollars to several different companies. By only having the one delivery, our "Float" money amounted to between $25,000 to $35,000 a week depending on the number of transactions. That is alot of interest earned on money that wasn't even ours, it was our customers, and Ebay is holding for 21 days on probably 100 times that amount of money. Can you say "Ka-Ching".

Ok so now we narrowed it down and decided that their just like every other corporation or big business. And if you all think you should close your accounts and move elsewhere. I guess then you all should go for it and see if it changes anything and not just vent about it. As for me and millions of others I'm staying
cause even with the hassles and fees it's still and will always be the largest worldwide market to buy and sell from. I may not agree with them or like what's going on there but I really don't like what I see everywhere else in this country and the world itself, fees, taxes, greed, crime and corruption are here to stay. I think I'll just stay inside and pull the curtain on this subject. Bye.

I haven't like your attitude on this subject since you thought you would post.. your first post was blaming me for them holding my money.. I pay bills with my ebay money it isn't money I just piss away on worthless crap..what am I suppose to tell my car insurance company or credit card company? oh I'll have the money in 21days? yeah sure they will wait.. your attitude p's me off

What? I thought I closed the curtan on this part of my tread replies but seeing you seem to have the last word. And if you want to act like this then here's my answer to you...Well Boohoo if you don't like what I said in my first or last post. I guess you'd like it if I sided with you from the start. This shows that you can't let anyone have a change of heart. I actually though this was sopposed to be a discussion thread and open to anyone not just people whom agree with you all the time. But I've been in the same spot many times with my bills like many of us before I'm sure. But then it's knowone's fault but your own to base your bill payments on your ebay sales and not on a steady income. So just back of me and look in the mirror. And think about what your saying caused based on your return post to mine I see knowone to blame but yourself, you can base bill payments on profits projected on ebay income for the same reason you started this thread. Ebay can be a source of income but can't always be relied on 100% of the time. And how can you project assumed income from ebay? What if you expect to make $500 on auctions and only make $300? Then you find yourself in the same situation with enough cash to pay those bills. It happens, it has happened to me and that's why I don't do this to begin with. As for the rest of the members whom understand that I had a change of heart on the subject, thank you. I can see you realise that it's my right to hope you can get past all this and move on. And if you can't that's fine with me cause I can. I realise that some of you might depend on ebay profits to pay bills and I hope that you can see yourselves through until your cash starts to flow again. It's like having a new salaried job, and this way it the same. If you had to work for a month without pay before you received your paycheck things like bills and rent can get behind and for those that are having this problem I fully understand your concerns. Just remember in this thread your not allowed a change of heart or a change of mind by the thread starter. And this is all I'll say on the subject unless I get attacked again by creeper71 for having changed my mind. So now the curtan closes again and I hope I'm left out of the subject and only replly to those who let you lead their opinions and never have a change of heart. Woodstock
well you flap your fingers on keyboard like you know me.. if you did then you would know I do work a real job an it still isn't enough to maake bills so before you make accusation know the the heck your talkin about!! I am behind on alot of bills you try to live on 7.25 per hr

Creeper, don't pay any attention to that dude, he sounds like their spokesperson. ::) ::) ::)
Unfortunately Ebay/Paypal (Ebay owns Paypal) has implemented another rule that will discourage new sellers or future sellers from using their website. Kinda stupid in my opinion, but it is what it is no matter how asanine it may be. Here is a "for instance," Say I buy an item from a relative new seller on ebay (such as yourself) whos funds are being held for 21 days. You ship the item, I receive it. I file an item received not as decribed case against you, ebay/paypal refunds my money before I even ship the item back to you. Now I have my money and the item for free. Sounds like an opportunity for scamming to me. I bet it has already been done to numerous sellers.

Even though they claim it is ebay and not them (incestuous bed partners), here are the paypal policies/excuses for holding your money-https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?...ID=security/ebay_payments_learn_more&fli=true

and some faq's regarding the same-https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=security/paypal_holds_faq

I hope eveything works out for you and even though I sell on ebay doesn't mean I like them or their policies, nor do I have to. Personally, I hope this opens them up to an anti trust violation that will include a class action lawsuit aginst them by sellers such as yourself.
