Walking in my neighborhood the other day with the dog, I met these 2 guys who have all the guy toys in their driveways,you know the type,they have Harley's,jet skies,bass boats,etc. Any way the one tells me what wear you picking up in the road a minute ago,I said a dime,I found a dime in the road so I picked it up.They both kind of laughed at me and said are you that poor that you have to pick up coins. I said no I just like to do it and didn't see anything wrong with it.The other one asked how much do you usually find,I lied and told them only a few cents.Well today I'm up early 7am and walking my dog when I see one coming down the street and he rolls down the window and throws a handfull of change at me.I'm glad I was looking down,or I would have got it in the face.He threw $1.30 in coins at me,and laughed as he drove away.
I've herd of this happening to guys detecting on the beach sometimes.

That happen to me once a guy threw a buck worth of pennys out in front of me. I told him I dont need them because I already have what Im looking for. Those I leave for the next person down the rd.

I had an older guy place a quarter.. meaning (he dug a small hole a put it there so he would remember where it was) a bit in front of my path, i saw him and timed my swing so i would not hit it. after about 20 ft he taps me on the shoulder to find his coin.. he explained that he wanted to see if i could find it but now has lost it. being the nice guy i went right to the spot and one swing found it but it kinda ticked me off that he planted it. but like a few has said, i didnt wanna give him the satisfaction. if he wanted to know more about what i was doing, why didnt he just come ask me like everyone else on the beach lol

Next time I'd see him, I'd walk up & say,

"hey instead of throwing the Coins,
Why don't I just come over here once a day & you can hand me a $20 "

or "Hey remember the other day you threw me those coins ?
I really appreciate it man, there was a 1916 D Dime in it,
Just shipped it to Christies's auction house
there promising me 6 figures easy considering condition
Tell ya what , when it sells & I get my cash, I'll invite you over
for the celebration you rock Man !!!!!! "

You sound a bit like me, Jeff. Kinda passive aggressive. Smarts generally outdo guttural every time.

But, even so, don't assume anything about me. Just because I don't doesn't mean that I can't nor that I won't. One particular instance comes to mind. I was intentionally abused by this one middle aged moron who thought he was all that. I turned off my machine, stood up to my full 6ft 210 pound frame, expanded my chest to it's full size and stood there looking (down) at his eyes, gripping my muddy, serrated, Leche knife with this slightly vacant stare. He suddenly got very quiet, and remembered that his mommy was calling him. Push if you must, this old gray head, but........be very very careful.

I'll tolerate only so much.

I had that done to me once in a park, I told the kid you throw that at me again and your going to pick it up with you teeth, so that ended that. My Aunt picked up coins on the streets of Philadelphia until the day she died, she had over $5000.00 in free money! I would have like to pick up the money he threw at you and put it in his jet skies gas tank. LOL!

Just think if you can get him to pitch at least one dollar a day for a year you would most likely be pocket packin one whole weeks of his pay from him.LOL

This reminds me of the bullies in high school. They picked on everyone and then it was my turn. I always tried to avoid a fight when able but when cornered (wits end) I retaliate.
I was on the wrestling team and the PE coach was the wrestling coach. I wrestled two divisions higher than my weight, so I was able to handle myself. Well these bullies were in my class and the coach had told a couple guys to pick who they'd face off with. Wouldn't ya know it. One of the bullies picked me. Thinking he would have his chance. Lol
I knew the plan but was thinking maybe he wanted to just wrestle. Well he cross armed me and got me in the nose.
Blood was coming out real slow, but I didn't even think about it. I just rolled out, grabbed his leg, put my other arm like I was hugging him. So his head was by my shoulder. Then I introduced his knee to his nose a couple times. As the blood poured from his nose, I told him to tell his other buddies to quit picking on the other kids or I'll finish this by doing the same to the others.
Wouldn't ya know it. They stopped picking fights with the other kids. LOL.
The funny part is that for our high school reunion he came up to me like we were old buddies.
I don't condone violence, but when you've got to say or do something about it, then you've got to do it. Otherwise those people will keep doing it.
