I got 2 gold rings, 1 10k ring with a blue stone setting and 1 14k. The stone is flawless and is set in 10k gold, that tells me that it’s either synthetic or some other kind of man made stone, but I like it anyway.

I also got two silver coins, 1 57 Roosevelt dime and a 44 big P war nickel. This spot is getting harder to work as time goes by, not to mention the weeds are coming up faster and faster.

I also found four Hartford Fire Insurance rings circ 1950’s. I found 3 in the same area, not 2 feet apart. I saw many great hunters in this order, CAL HUNTER, Doug, Kenny, Dana Point Val, Ray from California, Jim, Fooleo and Dan (the Cap-en). I saw another hunter but I never got a chance to say hello or share finds. I latter found out that was Dana Point Mike AKA on T-Net oknorm, I’ll meet him next time. I saw most of them on Monday. Everyone got more than a few wheat’s, if not silver. The Cap-en had one of the stringiest wheats I ever seen, a great find indeed. Hopefully he'll post it in his next topic.

I have 16 photos I hope you guys like:

Nice rings Anthony and silver.
Without giving away your MD spot, it looks like a tornado came through there and clear the buildings to the foundation.
Did one come through there or is that just old tear down buildings from demolition or abandonment?
Just curious.
BTW I like the ring with the blue stone in in too.
Thanks!
Rob

The gold is great isn't it. No feeling like it. I think the reason you are getting the gold is that you are finding the nickels. I would say your machine is set up perfectly for where you are and what you are doing.

Couple of things. How old is this area? The reason I ask is the domed object that is about the size of a button that has the design on it. Is it an upholstery tack or something else? If it's not a tack, it may be old. What is the item that has the yellow "stone" just south of the cars? Also, what is the item to the right of the close up of the hammer. It has ridges on it and I don't see it in any other shot.

Just wondering.

Nice Rings...and other things too. That's an interesting site.

On those war nickels..I can attest to the "black" stuff, It looks like solid tar. I was cleaning out my 2007 finds To-Be-Cleaned box and wanted to date my two nickels (in the worst way). I used HCL acid and it worked fine (for the Worst way)...turns out nickels were both 1943. Darned if I can remember where I got them..I really thought they were modern gunky.

Outstanding! Those are some sweet rings. Did you find all of that in one day?

Great photos too. Thanks for sharing.

Ant, you can do more with that GBII than anyone I've known!! Don't you know you're just supposed to find gold nuggets with that machine? ;) LOL

It was good seeing you out there Monday. I got myself a '52 silver rosie and a couple wheats before I left just as it was getting dark.

Keep the great finds comin'!

You know, I knew I had a few pictures from the first time I went out there. Now I wish it still looked like this!

Hi MDAmerica.
It’s a demolition project for present and future commercial, industrial and recreational areas, the project is almost complete. This housing area got caught up in that, not unlike an area that has been requisitioned by immanent domain laws, not exactly, but sort of. We don’t have many tornados in California, and I stay away from resent disasters like I do graveyards. Hope this helps and HH.

The GoldBug2 hits harder on nickels that anything else besides gold. The machine is noisy but I've learned to ignore that and only concentrate on the signals that I have learned may be a coin or something better, my next machine will be the SE.

The area dates back to the 30’s, but a near by site is said to have used this area earlier. But for all practical proposes it dates back to the 30’s, most of the early finds point to that circ period.

On the button thingy, I thought it was a button, the type that would have been used on a heavy over coat and pressed onto a plastic button. The back is hollow and it has no shank, what do you think, it’s not a tack?

The thing with the yellow stone is a ring setting with the stone.

And the thing with the ridges is that little dog game piece, you can see a clear shot in the first thread photo 11, you can see 2 iron game pieces too. Thanks for asking Daryl.

Hi Joe.

Yeap you’re right, sometimes they come out with substance that resembles and reacts exactly like tar, add a little soil and we have asphalt.

Hi KirkTN.
No, I found the 10k gold ring with the stone on it Saturday and the 14k ring on Sunday. I found junk rings every day and even a couple or junk rings that fell apart and I just threw into the trash side of my treasure apron.

Hey Ray, great going on the Silver, wheats and the Silver pendant and chain you found at the park ;), still a lot of goodies at the spot.

HH, see you there.

Thanks again everybody.

I can see now that the scale matches and it is the little dog. I am assuming that is a game piece. Maybe an old Monopoly piece?? Those are very collectible especially the ones that are "cute." Is the yellow stone mounted in a good ring or just a cheapo and the yellow "stone" is plastic? Just checking.

About the "Button." The reason I asked is that I found several like that in the UK and Amsterdam. No back. No shank or mark where it would have been. No visible way to attach it to anything. It just looks old. I think it deserves a little more research. If nothing else, I would like to find out what they were attached to and how. I can't figure it out and I hate that.

Keep hitting the site. It is producing a lot if interesting stuff.

Looks like a nice warm place to hunt. The finds look good too. ;D That ring looks sweet.

Hi Mirage.

On Saturday and on Sunday the early morning dipped just below 32F. Before the day was over it must have reached the mid 60’s low 70’s.

HH and Gold Luck.
