Treasure is found in many forms. Today it was a mink on the side of the road. This is my 8th roadkill this season. The rest were 1 gray fox, 2 fisher, 3 raccoons, and one opossum. I had planned on skinning the mink to sell with the others, but my wife wants to get it mounted. The rest of the fur will hopefully pay half the price of a CZ-21. One hobby, paying for the other. :headbang:

I realize many folks here may be sensitive to the sight of a dead animal, but realize I'm utilizing an already dead roadkill that would be wasted otherwise. If it wasn't for my wife asking to mount it, I would expect somewhere around $20-25 for the pelt at the auction.

They were illegal because some lowlife placed them in the Scituate Reservoir. The traps were legal to own, so I wasn't in possession of anything illegal. As for the financial gain nonsense, I never stated that I sold them. I destroyed them and threw them in the trash.

How do you know that those traps were illegally put where you found them? How do you know that they were not placed there by the state Fish and Game Department for scientific study. Not sure what your state laws are, but in my state (Mt) it is against the law (ILLEGAL) to mess around with anothers traps. If whomever was illegally trapping, your are just a much in the wrong in stealing those traps. Your responsibility would have been to report them to the proper authorities, and let them handle the situation.

Nice find a real treasure ,Those opposed to trapping and hunting a renewable natural resource, must hate animals if there is a better way give it to the American outdoorsman he will gladly use it! Uncle Verle grew up on a mink farm hes likely fed cared and skinned for over a cool million mink and grew up to be a pro baseball player .

How about posting a picture of this one. I wanna see it!
Happy to oblige. Looks just like the other one, but a little more damage to the head. This one is drying and will be added to my fur pile.
