Wanted to get out of the house for a bit this weekend. Plus I didn't get my 2 boxes due to the holiday.

Planned a trip to Monroe, GA to look around with the wife. Hit all 5 banks that I had called earlier to find out if they were open on Sat. Only a handful of halves, none silver.

On the way, we hit a small town People's Bank and they had $70 in the drive through tray and $300 in the vault. Made the 75 mile round trip and lunch worth it.

Many of the rolls were nothing but 1970's era and had that "I've been hanging with silver" type patina. You know, that dusty grayish yellow look. They all were hand wrapped in People's Bank wrappers.

I found a total of 12 - 40%'s:

1966 - 3
1967 - 4
1968 - 2
1969 - 3

Plus a 1982 no FG error. (Has ANYONE been albe to sell a circulated one of these?)

Wondering if maybe the tellers "know" that only pre-1965's have silver. Still, won't complain at all. Two more ounces of silver than I had this morning.

Hope everyone else has good luck.

Good job Sheldon, I had been thinking about hitting Monroe at some point, but won't mess with the drive now. I'm not as hip on driving around to the banks in summer, and rely more on boxes. Speaking of which, maybe I should be driving around to the banks in summer a little more! Good luck!

I have seen the circulated sell on E-Bay for about $5.

Love the attitude....

There is still some silver left in Georgia. Congrats.
I was in the Covington/Conyers area 3 weeks ago
doing some work and hit several banks. 2 or 3 keepers
at the most.

Good job on the silver fines. I've still not found a 1982 without the FG initials. You would think with all the coins I search one would eventually pop-up.

Do you want one? Maybe we can work out a fair trade. I don't really collect errors(only look to make the non-silver more interesting ;D), and wouldn't want to sell one on e-bay unless I had to. No pressure, just an offer to fill in your collection if you want. :)

HH.
