Mini blower / non-mailbox type thing - design?

Hey! I resemble that guy. We were 12-15 ft down just off the stern. We were in and out of the water so much, we never bothered to secure our gauges. The DIR guys were mortified!

It's hard to know what to recommend when I don't know your situation, BVI. Lots of sand overburden? Dredge/air lift is a must. Scooters work if you brace or anchor yourself. Just poking around? A plastic ping pong paddle will do. Do you have current to carry away the sand you're lifting?

Come on then, which Gentleman ( and I am informed to use the term on advisement) are you in the video??

Gentleman? Ha! Depends on the day. I am the one on the right digging with the wand in hand (and gauges floating about), my buddy Brad is on the left, and our trip leader Scott is the one with the blower. Happened back in 2006 on the digboat, Rio Bravo. Rgecy (on this forum) shot the video. Scubafinder, Salvor6, mad4wrecks, Chagy and several others on this forum were there. Good times.

It's hard to believe it was that long ago. Hey Darren, I thought you would be in Mozambique now. What happened?

Thanks Darren

Between poking around and moving some serious sand.
Done ping pong paddle, too small an area. Need to search about the size of a volley ball ct, not all in one go,though, and move about ten inches off the bed?

Found a wallet once on the seabed, donated the five pounds (8 dollars) out of it to charity and sent it back to the owner, fair trade we thought.

Have a variety of different sized bore's to try on the outflow so you can drive up the PSI with the sump pump. A small bore may work better than a big old pipe.

BVI, it wasn't the Aquapulse, but the JW Fisher Pulse 8x wand attachment.

SADS 669, the whole trip was followed on this forum here...

Salvor6
- I wish I was in Moz now, but my contact there never came through with his permit. Been thinking about Nicky, but we'll wait and see. So many projects, so little time.

Given the choice - which would one would you choose over the other?

Set up the pump suspended in the water.
Power from a drop cord from my house.
Water jet was good but not "blasting".
Hole was about the 3ft/sq and about 10 inch deep. This took about 4 mins.
Not too much clouding, maybe better with more current?

Conclusion; would be OK for localized area / where careful exposure is needed
need more powerful pump for larger crater.
