Found this copper spear tip metal detecting in central Wisconsin July, 2023.
After I research it I contacted the State of Wisconsin Historical Society.
Below is an excerpt from their response.

I don't think they did much melting. They just heated and hammered raw copper nodules into the shape. I've found some pretty good sized peices of copper. It's pretty pure and soft enough could definitely be worked.
 

That's a real top shelf recovery. Congratulations
I've seen a few items make it over as far as Eastern Ontario.

No, unfortunately there was no wood shaft attached. Less than 4” deep with my AT Pro on an area we’ve walked across hundreds of times over the past 30 years 😯

I have to give you credit for recognizing it in the first place, no way would I have thought anything but scrap metal.
