Metal Prices

took some scarp steel in today,

prepared steel $150 a ton
unprepared steel $120 a ton

1960# of unprepared got me $98, 40 more pounds and i would have made $22 more, only got 0.05 cents a pound since I didn't have a ton, prices here are not the best, I'm in central kansas, took my stuff 45 miles down to great bend.

what is lead going for these days? I have a bunch of junk fishing weights and wheel weights (about 15 lbs.)

Last Sept I got .20 a pound for it. I would think that you will make more than that with the current scrap prices

Steel price in So. AZ .10 a pound. With the price of gas i wish it was higher
 

I wonder if the price of scrap will drop due to the Earthquake in Japan? I think That it will for the short term as Japan is so close to China....
