Metal Prices

Scrap steel, iron, tin, and mixed is $0.035-$0.045 here in brevard county Florida. Aluminum ranges $0.35-$0.55, motors and batteries down to $0.15 a pound

Where you at in Southern AZ? IF the sheet iron is clean, I might be willing to give you more for it. I don't want any from appliances though, that coating is pretty much impossible to get off

Sheet iron $.0165 $33 a ton... Some places here are at $.005 so $10 a ton Sucks big time...

Where I am right now they aren't paying anything for scrap metal. I took 600 lbs to the scrap yard last month and all I got was $3. It's not even worth hauling at that price. They said they pay half a penny per pound. They do pay really well for aluminum cans $1.85 per pound plastic bottles $1.20 per pound and water jugs .90 per pound but everything else is so low I won't be messing with it until I figure out a better place to take it so I can actually make money. Copper isn't bringing anything here either.

You gotta have clean sorted scrap to make money, right down to copper. Place near me in Rubidoux gives good money, however the type of aluminum will make the price vary. Cans get like $0.60/pound. Aluminum heat sinks get me like $1.20/pound. Copper/aluminum mixed radiators from AC units get me $1/pound. Clean copper wire or anything pure copper gets $0.90/pound.
