Mercury Head's 1916

So I was at the swapmart today and picked up these three merc's. I'm still trying to find the D. Maybe they were there and got rubbed off?

Got a 1917 merc, Two V nickels 1903 and 07 and a worn 1925 standing liberty all for $13 bucks.

I'll prob never find these in the ground but love adding them to my collection.

Note the last pic looks like the most likely to have had a D on it. Maybe its just my bad eyes or just hope.
Thanks for looking.

Re: Mercury Head's 1916

I think its hope, I'm not seeing any part of a D. Not a bad haul for 13 bucks though.

If you look closely at the last picture. It looks like the outline of a D under the olive branch by the E in one?

I enlarged your photo and still could not see it. I then placed that portion of your pic next to another "D" Mercury for comparison. I still could not see it. Maybe under higher magnification? I'd like it to be there for you, I just don't see it.

That's common to see them wore like that, but I can't explain why. I just found one and the same way :dontknow:
