I am looking for someone who can draw a Pirate. The Pirate will be printed on the Membership Certificates. Can be in color or black and white. I will also Copyright the drawing. The artist name will also appear below the drawing.
OR
How about a Pirate ship.
There are tons of drawings available but I do not want to get into trouble over Copyrights. I will pay with a 4 t.o silver bar that I recovered from a site I have been working for several years. This bar was melted by the AIS Indians. It is just as I found it and has never been cleaned and in fact it is still discolored from the melting.
Thanks
Peg Leg
OH, you can send me the drawing by PM and I will chose the one I like the best.

PegLeg,
I know a student artist that has done a lot of pirates. Do you want me to contact her?

Captain Mike

Bongo, Yes that would be great.
Thanks
Peg Leg
Did you get the photo I sent to you?

HEY PEG LEG
I'M SENDING YOU THIS IMAGE FOR YOUR CONTEST. I CREATED IT ON Corel Draw WHEN THE FIRST PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN MOVIE CAME OUT. I WAS INSPIRED BY THE BLACK PEARL I GUESS...I ADDED A FEW FINAL TOUCHES TODAY...IT'S NOT PERFECT BUT YOU CAN USE IT FOR THE CERTIFICATE IF YOU LIKE IT ;)

The flags are blowing the wrong way.

The ship is sailing down wind the flags indicate the ship is sailing into the wind.

My two cents

PegLeg,

I sent an email to Raindancer. She is the art student I mentioned earlier. Has a pretty extensive portfolio of pirate art, quite good. I gave her your email address.

I did not get the picture..

Captain Mike.

My friends you will notice that I have deleted a good number of my post.
I was posting a ton of things that had nothing to do with anything.
My Grandson tried to take my new camera apart and now I cannot put it back together. There went $400 out the window but he is only 3 years old. He takes after his Grandpa-wants to see how things work ;D.
I expect to have a few gold and silver coins on the Market pretty soon.
Here is something I did not know about. I have been collecting pottery sherd's for a number of years and keeping only the best ones and giving away all the rest. This is AGAINST the Law I am told. Another Venture comes to an end. I forgot where this pottery site is located ::) You forget things as you get older.
I was told that there is Petrified Palm Trees in a River in North Florida-forgot where :-\ :-\
Gotta do some more research on other things.

Hi Peg...

Phips Folly here. What are the membership certificates for? I am somewhat of an artist (and a fulltime TH'er)and have a great love of pirates/ships/etc. Let me know if there is a particular type of scene you are looking for such as a fight scene between ships or pirates burying a treasure chest or ? and i'll see what I can come up with. I have a pretty decent collection of shipwreck "goodies" and would love to add the 4 T.O. silver bar to the display. Email me at [email protected]

All the best... Phips

Hey Peg Leg,,,
What type of membership is it?, Club, Organization, etc...
Do want a mean pirate?, a goofy pirate?, or would you rather have a ship?
I doodle a little now, and then... maybe able to come up with something...
Here's a pic of me, I was playing around with awhile back,,, doctored up a bit... ;D

I think a Ship would be just fine.
It would be used as a background on the Certificate/
The Membership Certificate is not a plain piece of paper.
It is made from Bond paper. The same as Stocks and Bonds are made from.

PIRATES COVE will have a Museum showing items recovered from the ocean bottom.
Of course this will not be as large as Mel Fishers place but the decor will be much much better.

Well Guys,
Since I am a smoker and this will be a Private type Eatery SMOKING WILL BE ALLOWED. Yes it will be open to the Public- (in a way that is). If you are NOT a member it will cost $5.00 to become a Member- FOR THAT ONE TIME AND ONE TIME ONLY. If you return it will cost you another $5.00 per person.
The food will be STEAKS cooked on an open grill. Corn on the cob will also be cooked on the grill along with Baked potatoes and a veggie.
Drinks will be Beer, wine, tea, coffee and soft drinks.
There will be NO plastic dinnerware or plates. THE ONLY PLASTIC WILL BE YOUR CREDIT CARD
Drinks will be served in MUGS or TANKARDS except for the wine. There will be no T.V.
This will not be a run of the mill Pub or Beer Joint or Hang Out. Well maybe a Hang Out for Treasure Hunters. The food will be GREAT (I GUARANTEE IT).
Cornelius. The Market is already there, all I have to do is tap into it and let people know it is there. This will be done through WORD OF MOUTH. Where else can people come and rub shoulders with REAL Treasure Hunters and have a chance to see REAL TREASURE. I am going to cater to the DREAMER.
Even people with money DREAM of doing what Real Treasure Hunters do. Be FREE to persue their DREAMS.
I also know this is not going to be a cheap venture but not as expensive as you may think.
The Membership Certificates will help cover some of the cost.
The Certificates are also not going to be cheap. They will cost somewhere near $50.00 each. BUT this means that those with a Certificate will receive a 20% discount on anything being sold including Food and Drink for a period on 3 years. This also includes the WHOLE FAMILY as long as the Member is with them.
I have a few more things that I am working on.
Oh, I already have a commitment of about 100 items that have been recovered including some Silver and Gold coins and a few Silver bars.
More later.
Thanks for the interest.

peg leg,
ever been to the pirates house resturant in savannah georgia?my parents used to take me there all the time, they even had a real dungeon.i havent been back there but from what i hear its still there.

i found the website for it,even has the menu list you can steal
http://www.thepirateshouse.com/index.htm

The menu will not be fancy and will contain no seafood.
I know it is hard to believe but in the time of Pirates they prefered anything except seafood. This is what they had to eat to just live. But when on land they prefered anything but seafood.
The tables will be made from HATCH COVERS with a few tables made from old Whiskey barrels.
I have already bought some used Mahogeny wood from the Port to be used in the decor.
The open pit grill will be in the center of the main dinning area.
Of course the grill is fired by gas for temp control.
Over the grill will be a large round copper hood. This I will build myself.
Now all I have to do is find the right location with an exisiting building.
I am looking at Cocoa Beach, Indiatlantic, 520 Causeway, Cocoa Village and at Port Canaveral-(where-ever I can afford).
Going looking around this weekend.
I am open to suggestions.
Thanks
Peg Leg

I have something I want to sell in order to raise funding for the Pirates Cove project.
But I have no idea what it is worth.
I recovered this item while searching the beaches near Sebastien Park.
Since my camera is broken I can only discribe what it looks like.
It is solid gold and appears to be made from a Gold escudo. It has been beaten flat and a small hole has been punched at one end. There is also a hand hammered cross in the middle. At the end of the cross is what appears to be little punch makes.
The weight is over 3 grams. The work is very crude.
It has not been cleaned or polished and is just the way I found it.
I can scan this gold piece and send a copy to whoever wants to see it or I can send a scan to someone and have them post the scan of the forum. It is 22k plus.

If you study long you study wrong.
I have found an artist that is willing to work with me that lives only about 5 miles from my house. He is an art student in college close by and its FREE. Can't beat the price.
Sorry for all the trouble.
Thanks
Peg Leg

I found the perfect location-I THINK.
It is less than 300 feet from the beach with plenty of FREE parking.
The structure will need some serious work inside and out so the price may be within range.
Will talk with Real Estate people Mondayand see what the ASKING price is.
I am hopeing to be out of town the middle of next week for a few days. I am not in a hurry-the building has been standing empty for over year (GOTTA PLAY THE GAME). The longer it stay empty the lower the price.
Peg Leg.
JOHN sorry about no meeting with you this evening but just as I was heading your way there came one heck of a rain storm. Will try again another time.

Forget everything I have said about MEMNERSHIPS.
I have decided that the Membership fee will be $20.00 per member and this is for a LIFETIME. This does NOT mean you will get a discount off anything. It means that you are allowed to enter for FREE at anytime it is open. The Public will STILL have to purchase a One day Membership at $2.00 per person in order to enter.
I have also come up with a way to construct the interior to look like the interior of a wooden ship with open beams. This will save me a ton of money. I hope to create an Upper Deck section where you can enjoy the open air and be able to see the Atlantic Ocean and the beach and feel the the Ocean breese.
This is where you can sit under a cabana and enjoy a COOL ONE.
This is The CAPTAINS DECK.
There will also be a Pirates Gallery which will consist of Photos of Treasue Hunters and their Boats. These photos will be hung on the walls throughout the area.
I am just thinking out loud.
More later
Peg Leg
