Hi

Im new to this forum, started to roll hunt at work and picking dimes, quarter from banks.

I'vr been skunk from rolls at work.

Went to bank today, picked four rolls of dimes wich were skunks, on top of that I've got 8 rolls of quarters. This is starting, the Teller put them on counter, i see silver on the rim. Im leaving the bank with huge smile on my face!

I go thru them, i Find 8 silver in one roll, every roll had one....
Thats 100$ picked up.

Goes back for more roll saying i didint take enough, asked twrnty roll, i see one ender!

Oh god!

So I've got from two drawer, 10 first rolls had silver and last 10 were not only skunks but 2$ short (i dont mind those shorts).

Total is 27 quarters
1 is early 1900's

Total: 260$ searched.

Pics comming soon!

That's a fantastic haul! Could there be that much more silver floating around in the Great White North?? Keep up the good work and HH! :icon_thumleft:

I'm most curious as to the dates of your finds.... You're very lucky as you have found more silver quarters in those rolls than I have found in the last $30, 000 worth of Canadian Quarters that I have searched. Are you including the 68's?

I have a question for you canadian hunters. Can you tell a difference between the silver and regular coins edge checking?

Yes, there was many 68's

Only one 67's, one from 1951.

Date unreadavle on that 25'c with King.

Id say 1915-1930~

As for checking RIM, definetly they are very différent.

68 was a tough year for us Canadian CRH folk as the quarter of that particular year was made two different ways. One type has silver and the other type does not, if your 68's stick to a magnet then they are made of Nickle and if they don't stick then they have silver in them.

I never rim check as I look for error coins like yourself with the Cent pieces.

Nice George! Wish I could go up there sometime and do some CRHing...HH Sleepy

Keep in mind the government and couriers cull the silver from MWR. Maybe the plastic rolls were from a local company who does not have a contract with the government.

There's a few (not too many) that get through, notice the damage (my first and only ender silver quarter) from the machine.

Or a dump, im going back tommorow for more roll.
A big dump is planned this week-end.

All those i kept were non magnetic, silver.

I did open each roll except last 10, i would have missed a few if just done RIM check.

Found a 2007 proof months ago from same bank.

If that's the case than you may want to go and buy as many rolls from that bank as you can afford. I've never encountered the clear rolls here and don't regard silver 68s (even though they've got a silver content) as a personal silver find for myself only. I have found my far share of silver 68s that are currently residing in a gallon ice cream pale. Best of luck to you bud, I've had some luck with dimes recently. :occasion14:
