maybe soon you can only use Marsh Mellows for Bullets in California ?

I never really had a problem with animals that Ive helped. It was like they sensed it.Interesting.Even the full grown redtail i picked up off the highway. My worst one though was from a horse too lol.A very big stud show horse stepped on my foot.
...most didnt understand,or see that I was helping them!!The worse with a lion...the funny story,it was sound asleep,and got a hold of my leg...yea,they said I squeeled...it was dark!!LOL!

We had pet Bobcats...like live in the house pets...and when they ate red meat, their whole attitude would change...they were very agressive and cantankerous(SP)for a good day or so....

Love bobcats but prob not loose in my house!

Yup you dont know the half of it lol.Wearing sneakers at the time didnt cut it any either.

Hard to remember sometimes how heavy they are..When I was a teenager and showing horses had my leg broken twice when they fell on me...amazing animals!

Well that's all I got for tonight. .Have a good night all!!

Been stepped on bare foot by a mare. Been bit, rolled on,kicked, leaned on by others. Makes some horses more appealing than others. With last years drought there are some(according to listings) fine horses selling cheaper than they have in a long time. That has to really hurt for some owners.

Its not PC today,or probably "right",but I have to tell ya,as a kid that had a Bob as his "cat",an ordinary ole cat just never fit the bill....fantastic pet

Here are some pics my wife took last year at a bald eagle watch and workshop. The eagle has lead poisoning so it cannot see well. The owls were both hit by cars and fixed up and we released them by the river.

Last fall my friends dog ran off into the neighbors field and started to chase cattle. Then his other dog ran off into the field to help the other dog chase the cows. I had to go out there after watching my friend try for a half hour. I walked almost a mile and picked up the lab and made her come with me. The cows started eyeing me with her and they krept closer and closer. eventually I realized they wanted the dog not me so I took off running and the dog followed. we got out of the pen before they could catch us. That is one of the only times I felt endanger. I had my gun with me to but I wasnt going to shoot a cow unless I had to. Also in the beginning a thought crossed my mind that I should just shot the original dog and let them have him.

Hey Arn, do they do bloodwork on the eagles to find out if they have lead poisoning? Are they more susceptible to it than any other birds? Did you see the results from the lab?

I have to wonder what has brought on this epidemic and I know that you not only care, you are a reasonable and responsible person.

I mean no offense to you at all. I just want to know.

I am still going to use lead by the way just more cautiously and more acurratly. I use steel at most places anyways but it is the principle.

I see eagles all of the time, but I find tons of lead,, maybe more than tons, bullets, sinkers, old plumbing gaskets.

I didn't see anything about the blood work but thats what she said. It could of just helped serve her agenda, the big presentation was about lead poisoning. Like I said I still use lead. The story behind the eagle was that she was hit by a car and she was brought to a vet and she wouldnt do any better so they took a blood panel and found a high level of lead in her blood.

Also raptors in general are more susceptible from my understanding because they eat meat. But like talked about before why dont vultures or doves or pheasants or ducks get lead poisoning or atleast not as much?

Thanks Arn
I have seen this lead thing so much the last few weeks that it appears fishy to me. I want to see the blood workup on those claims because of it. Thank you for sharing your info Arn!
