Massachusetts militia officer sword buckle plate

First time river hunting. Found one piece of a Massachusetts militia officer sword buckle plate right on the water edge. It's pre civil war. Very little information on the Internet about it so if you have any I'd love to know about it. Relicman has a complete one on his website. Need to go back and see if I can find the other piece.

Thanks for watching,

Patrick

I found the keeper. Started a new thread with pictures of both the plate and the keeper.

I did find it yesterday. Started a new thread yesterday with pictures of both pieces apart and together.

That's sick!! Did you find it in or around MA?

From the book: American Military Insignia 1800-1851 - J. Duncan Campbell

So that all the information is in one place I am sharing everything I was able to find about the buckle. Vino also added pictures from one of his books. See the first few posts in this thread.

Feel free to add anything else you might find.

Not sure how I missed this but that's an incredible and rare relic find. Awesome man

Just wanted to add another example of this rare Mass belt buckle. I found this one 2 weeks ago in Central Massachusetts. I found this thread as I was looking for information on this piece.

Well done! Go back to the spot, the 2nd piece can't be too far away.

So that we have all the necessary information about this buckle in one thread, could somebody please post of picture of the page from O'Donnell & Campbell - American Military Belt Plates for this buckle? or type the text from the book? I believe it's plate #352 in the book. Thanks in advance.
