Interesting. Frank, on my last visit to the museum I picked up a story about Bob and a small tour he gave that I think would interest you if you have not yet already heard it. Its a Queen Creek tale that honestly belongs in print.

Ward leads to the DIOS stone.

Obviously Gila River Frank had been looking at the stone maps. This is only an illustration of the original. Frank, if this interests you, ask Tom if he has anything on Blevins. Blevins was writing a work on Theocracy, knew Gila River Frank, and if we are fortunate, a copy might survive.

Good Luck.

Zlanapah - A detail from my map before data points and trails. It is huge, map size and I am updating it constantly for those who want to contribute and share their favorite discoveries.

We have spoke much about the Julia's map , but nobody did pay attention to an important detail from her map . And I'm talking about the red square .

I believe the detailed trail around the Three Pines clue ( in the blue oval ) is not what a person could draw from imagination or from a moment's inspiration .

Julia's detail.webp

I believe this detail was what Waltz told her about the LDM region which cover about 200x200 feet . So , I believe the route was told like this :

" Begin from the horse's ears which have a prominent peak and go up until you will see three pines in line . Go to the left of the pines until you reach the small ledge above the pines and go to the left beside the ledge . After you pass above the pines , the ledge goes down and to the right . Follow the shape of the ledge down , and before you reach the mountain edge turn a little bit to the right , below a small peak . There is where you will find the rock piles which cover my mine "

Maybe Walz have made some sketches for her . But let see it in the fields . A Bing map image of the region . The blue line is the mountain edge and the brown lines is the route which Julia should to follow . I leave the last feet of the trail for you to complete . I hope you will enjoy it .

Dont you think there is a difference between, 3 pines, and three pines, and tree pines, i do,
i do not say you are wrong here, but like i told you before, on this map it also show 6 miles,
when a man is sick with lung problems, it is easy to put words in is mouth,
if i am sick at that point and i raise my hand with 3 fingers, and after 30 minutes i say pines, then somebody arround will say
thats it, 3 pines, or tree pines or else,
like i said before at that time 1870 americans, the mentality of americans was not aware of the metric system, but the old man was, because thats what he learn in europe,
so again the 6 miles like on other julias map are no good, the 3 miles maps very good, very, because there is 6 others mistake on it that is not good, in the german clues he mention drei kilometers, so the interpretation of the americans is 6 miles that double the distance, wrong here, instead of cutting the distance in half, as the metric system, as a result 3 miles map is very good, the reality is 1.5 miles in the metric system.
calculate you will see the frenchy is all ok.

regards frenchy

Why not just take the ore and have assayed and have the atomic fingerprint matched to geo matrix in soil samples of AZ? You can do that with any ore and get to almost the exact spots of any ore samples entered in from BLM land to federal from soil samples. We're in the DNA age. Take you right to where ore was found or at least confirm it.

I believe the Julia's map shows three trees which are named as pines . Also Julia gave the 6 miles distance from the Superstitions south end . Waltz told in the German clues, three kilometers from a spring when you are coming from the Mormon flat ( north ).So , the German clues have not relation with the Julia's map .
The tree pines clue was a secret clue which knew about only Julia . Keep the photo which i posted , and when you will find these 3 pine trees in that small hiden valley , just follow the trail which Julia drew in the map . Who knows , maybe you will find the LDM . But wait , almost to forget , you have found the LDM .

Ernie P, Why are they calling it the Colorado River?

I'll have to go back to see exactly where they did that Bill. Maybe because it is/was considered part of the Colorado tributary system? Salt joined the Gila river which then joined with the Colorado river at/near Yuma.

There are some of the old newspaper articles around 1870's that talk about how important the steamboat traffic on the Colorado was for Arizona Territory. Goods and people chugged all the way down and up to the Gulf of California and then onto larger ships from there to/from San Francisco. It apparently was a cheaper transportation route at one time, maybe also safer.

Good Az. T. riverboat history here;

[Edit; Right in front of my face! Slipped right by me, the title of the two picture does say Colorado river. Good question Bill, don't know if that was common or a mistake. I do know that entire area (and most of Az) is/was considered part of the 'Lower Colorado River Basin.']
