I think we have some great ideas like 60's tip for a cane, chair/table leg, perfume cap, shaft tip, etc. but we really can't determine which direction to go until we know the thickness and size of the tube. If it is thin and flexible, it wouldn't serve well as a chair/table/cane tip. Also the star motif has a more feminine look than industrial.

I'm leaning toward 50s/60s furniture leg cap, but for a 'light' weight, feminine piece like a sewing basket or the likes.

Atomic age is right on, Artemis. "Starburst pattern" would be another good addition in google searches.

I have seen that star pattern on several different 60s items.
