Just curious wouldn't adding two of the RED orings from minelab work just as well?

No, and you will end up snapping the side clamps for battery.Just curious wouldn't adding two of the RED orings from minelab work just as well?
Can, be aware using non Minelab o-rings voids warranty..

I am wondering the same thing...as well as coil and power hookup.Question for CTX GGA/GGU users. Does anyone use an O-Ring on the screw in M12 connector? Thanks
Minelab released new o-rings, they are gray, they are not the same as the red ones. I know for a fact the black ones have leaked...I really appreciate your concern. What is one to do? With minelab rings being suspect to leakage, I really am afraid to use their rings. I know they will stand behind their products. I hunt saltwater. Right now I will be saltwater beach hunting and dont plan going deep...yet. Salt leakage is not good. I got some of their new rings already. They look to be the same size as the red ones. Thanks for the help TH
There is o-ring inside the connector, but don't over tighten it. Some owners are using plyers to tighten and it destroys the o-ring, just finger tighten it....I am wondering the same thing...as well as coil and power hookup.

Ive got the 2016 model. I would hope they tested the heck out of those grey o rings. I'm not sure I plan to really take my CTX in the water since I have other machines for that but I assume its fine for shallow water hunting. I look at it more like sand/moisture/salt proof while I am beach hunting and it can be hosed off when done without worry. I see guys out there with etracs and just wonder how they do it. I see sand everywhere when I am done some days even under my cover...you just cant keep it out.
