Magic Fingers in Montana

My hubby was an ET and got the pleasure of going underway. I was an ombudsman for all the subs he was assigned to. I only got to go on the subs when it was time to meet with the captains.

Nice to meet you.

Welcome to TreasureNet!
I am a Electronics technician as well, I was a radiomen on the USS PENNSYLVANIA (SSBN 735) for 3 years.
I am in the Reserves now.

Donny

ever at Pearl?

Guess I chased and pestered him then and not you. LOL Sincerely though I salute you for your job volunteering. Managing your own family needs is difficult while the other spouse is deployed. Still when you could sit back and relax you jumped to the helm by taking care of all the ones left behind while they were underway. It is a true honor to meet you too.

No we were never at Pearl. Oh the stories I could tell....if I was allowed.

Being senior enlisted in commands trust me I know the stories and I know what is required of you and what you did for your husbands commands. HH

Hi Donny, nice to meet you. Hubby was back in the engine room. We were on 5 subs but never the PA. Mostly in Bangor, WA. and a few years in Groton for our sea duty.

Bangor is where I was stationed. I miss it, kind of.
But NY has so much more history and now I have more time to enjoy it

I know what you mean Donny. I did enjoy living there but felt they nickled and dimed you to death. It was always so green and I could grow a wonderful garden. We lived on base twice and then in Silverdale. I was told I would not know Silverdale today.

Welcome to treasurenet big sky neighbor. Wish you lots of luck in your future treasure hunts.

Thanks CB. I lived in Utah for a few years. My dad was stationed at Hill AFB.
I was stationed at Hill AFB in 1974 after coming back from overseas. Now I work there as a civilian. Hope to retire in three years.
Count Boris

Oh my goodness CB! I was at Hill AFB from 1973 thru 1976. My MIL still lives there and I still go down to visit her.
We will have to keep in touch.

I was a munitions maintenance specialist at Hill in 1974. Worked out by the bomb dump.

welcome to tnet...and keep going with the great pics..............hey montana looks good too...lol

hehehe thanks....I try and always have my camera with me but it never fails that the day I leave it home I miss a great picture. Like when there are 300-400 elk just standing there!!

Do you ever MD off of Sluice Box Road?
I've been down in the State Park there... to an abandoned scout camp. Found lots of nothing to speak of.

Do you have lots of iron in your soil there?
Nope. Well... there is iron crap buried all over the place, but not a high iron content in the soil.

Hi  Magic Fingers.. Your pictures are beautiful... I would love to wake up everyday and see that.
keep those photos comming..

gorgeous pictures every one!! Thanks so much for sharing and welcome to Mugs! Sorry I was so late posting on this...seems I missed some I thought I had posted on! :-[

Welcome to TNet, I have a friend who used to live in Great Falls that had a cabin near Cascade MT in the mountains and it was beautiful there just as your photos show. LOL, he retired from the military, sold his place in the mountains, sold his house in Great Falls and not to be confusing but now lives in Cascade, Idaho that is, another beautiful area.
Been to Montana on three TDY's in the military and one 25th wedding anniversary vacation was spent in Great Falls and up in Glacier and Waterton Lakes Park. Lifetime of memories from that trip.
Again welcome Donna.

Don

Welcome to TreasureNet, Magic Fingers. :)

Those pictures you posted are gorgeous. I hope someday to go out west and see it firsthand. 8)

Welcome, Magic Fingers. Sure could use your long distance massages over here on the North East Coast. I'm going to the chiropractor every day for the past 3 weeks for my back........long story.

I had to laugh ... we might as well start up our own navy just on this thread alone.....LOL Back in the middle 70s, I was a CT. Never aboard a ship or boat, always land. Hey, they never issued me a life preserver in boot camp (San Diego), so I wasn't going to take a chance! :icon_pirat: :icon_pirat: :icon_pirat: :icon_pirat: :icon_pirat:

Welcome aboard!
Mel
