Pant.... Pant.... Pant.... Ok... Where's the air conditioner hiding at? Tis not fit weather for man nor beast out here and it's looking like it's going to be even hotter over the next week. The Closest town to me which is Dolan Springs, is calling for 107 in the shade for the better part of next week.
Since we're on hold on the mobile home construction I managed to get the legs on the sluice stand shortened up by 6 inches. To do some testing, I grabbed a couple of buckets of dirt from a pile sitting beside the trench for the line from the propane tank to the mobile and ran them. After two buckets I cleaned out the box and panned the cons down. When I got down to mostly black sands left I ran the magnet through them to get the magnetic materials out and then panned it down a little further. When I checked the remaining materials I actually found a nice little piece of gold along with a bunch of flour. The house is located in Golden Valley, AZ and sits on the alluvial plane formed by the erosion of the southern part of the Cerbat Mountains. I know there are several lode mines up in the hills but wasn't expecting to see gold of any size in what I ran from the yard.
Now all I have to do is convince Janice that we need to put in a nice deep swimming pool. One that goes down to bedrock should do the trick I think......
