My 6 year old daughter wanted to detect with me today so we took the long trip out into our front yard. After a half hour of mind-numbing trash signals, consisting of old sardine cans, bottle caps, wire, misc. farm items, I gave up. (I have been detecting 20+ years, yet I quit first!) My daughter continued hunting with her Tesoro Compadre, telling me "you can't find anything sitting on the porch". I watched as she got a good signal, she turned the disc. up and still a good signal, In all my wisdon I said it was a large piece of iron, she disagreed and the digging began. At the 6" depth nothing, again I said junk. After scratching around the hole she ran over to me with something in her hand, and did it shock me! She found a 1952 SILVER Franklin Half dollar! Hows that for being a lucky dad, on Fathers Day, I now have a hunting partner for life! :icon_king:

It's great that she's finding those goodies so early on. Even better that you are the one forming a better bond by hunting with her. Way too many crappy roads can be averted by simply taking an honest appreciation and true caring for the ones that you love. That said, I need some lottery numbers for the upcoming Powerball. Simply amazing finds, for any age!

What a little sweetheart! I miss my daughters being that little. Glad she found that half and I hope she keeps up with the hobby.
