I'm new to treasure hunting but "very old" to dowsing. I've been dowsing since I was 6 with my great-grandfather but it was always for water. I had no idea that you were able to do it for things other then water, underground lines, pipes, what not. I started prospecting for fun and I found this site and have since done some coin roll hunting and I just bought a new Garrett AT-Pro. As I've been going through the forums I came across the dowsing portion and was extremely excited when I started reading about it. I'm going to be map dowsing my own property and I'd really appreciate if someone could also dowse it so I can compare. I'm mainly searching for coins, caches, jewelry as we are on a very old stretch of homestead.

When I was a kid and my great-grandfather actually taught me using a Y-branch off of a pitted tree. I could always find water without effort and my gramps always told me I was a "natural". A few years later I started using L-rods to find old septic and water lines as well. Is there anything I need to do differently to find coins, caches, jewelry, gold placer deposits or is it just my own state of mind?

I would really appreciate any serious advice. Thank you!

Dowsing for placer gold deposits on site, is more like finding water. Coins, jewelry, dowsing on site is another matter. If people wearing jewelry or have coins on them, are walking around you (such as a beach or public park) it is nearly impossible unless you have a really good technique mastered. Map dowsing for coins/jewelry is much easier to learn.

Green circles for any type of archaeological signal or could be just old stuff.Red circle stuff 1-2 feet deep, but seems like a couple loose coins.

Thank you very much! I had hits in the two lower green circles and at the red circle as well as about a half dozen other places. I haven't searched any of these areas that you have marked yet but I did search one of my bigger hits that I had dowsed and actually found a few coins so I'm very excited about this. Thank you again for your time, I really appreciate it!

Good luck! That one field with the red circle really had a lot of hits, a long way to the left and right of it, probably various type of targets.
