Thanks Digger,

No, I worked on it off and on for about 2 weeks. It took me 5 days to apply the finish. (one coat a day)

Wow Ron, you didn't do all of that in (5) days,,, did you?
Very nice....

Would you be willing to share some of your techquics for preparing the wood, what type of staining, or sealer you use on this stuff.

I have several pieces of berch wood I would like to do this to. If you would be willing to share some info about it, please send me an e-mail, Thanks...

I am a woodworker by trade. I build high end hardwood furniture for Pompanoosuc mills in East Thetford, VT. I know quality when I see it and I am seeing it now.....

Great job !!!! VPR

Awesome Job Ron....That was destined to be a piece of art from the get go...Firewood!!!...what were they thinking?Do you ever use a pressure washer or sand blaster?

Ron,
You might call that a floorlamp.........
I'll call it a piece of art!
Just womderful :)

well to bad your all the way up north my friend has or should still have some big pieces of drift wood.would make some neat things also.awesome what you did to yours.i had a arrowhead made from a petrified juniper tree piece.

Quality masterpiece. Amazing what mother nature provides for us to craft from. The beauty of wood should never, never be covered up with paint...that's my opinion.
