lionfish...every where...on the wrecks...

Tried them for the first time last summer... Excellent fish for eating.

I dont know caught some pretty big ones and the fillets are thicker than any other fodh of same size

lionfish have the piosonous quills like rockfish right

Yes the dorsal and pectoral fins. You just cut them off with kitchen shears before you clean and fillet

The ones I seen in the Keys while lobstering, kept slipping through my lobster net! :BangHead:

I don't like them, they ain't suppose to be here, but I haven't tried eating one, yet. :icon_scratch:

I figure, if you filled up some coolers with them, some sushi place, or Asian restaurant would buy 'em from you, no?
I used to know some folks, they would sell the heck outta their fish, down in Miami. :dontknow:

They are safe to eat & delicious. Many simple recipes online. People are encouraged to catch and eat them, or kill them.

They're all over Grand Cayman now and just killing the reefs. I've yet to eat one but will in February.

Tasty fish, I'd be eating them. Might have to do a lot of eating before diving in comfort.

Stick em with a spear and chop them up on the bottom for other fish and crabs to eat. When they start liking it they will find a way to kill them themselves.

Genius what about catch them and putting them in a salt water tank

How do you hold them without getting spiked

You don't have to....if you put them in a cooler of ice water for 20 minuets it neutralizes the toxin in the spines..... then you can safety filet, and if you get poked...will be no effect!

id like to put them in a fish tank i know there invasive like snakehead but unlike snakehead they are beautiful fish

hm they might be good for eating, but they also look nice alive I think :angel3:
