Lightning Strikes TWICE!! Turns out there WERE Two!!

Not 10 minutes into Today's Hunt, I hear Josh yell to come over and this is what I see in the hole



I had given Josh the H.M.A. from Friday as a birthday present. Today he was able to return the favor


Today's H.M.A. on left, Friday's to the right (Hampton Military Academy)






Again, Hampton Military Academy buttons are what Josh and I have been after every hunt for the last 6 months. To get two in two days is beyond any wildest dream we ever had. As Josh says below, listed as one of the HARDEST to find Confederate buttons. Thanks for sharing the experience.

WE HAD A DREAM WEEKEND!!!!! This is something that does NOT happen often and will be something to remember for the rest of our lives These buttons are listed in Albert and Tice's book as one of the HARDEST to find Confederate buttons of all and we GOT TWO It's like hitting the lottery only, in my eyes, better!

Yeah, we knew from the markings on the ring that it was a 20th century ring...but what we are saying is that it may be a Confederate Veterans ring that he had made sometime during the early part of the 1900s. Reunions were very popular at this time and many veterans of the Civil War had personal items such as rings and pendants made in remembrance.

I've said all along that I will never get rich digging and that I'm not in this for the money. I decided Friday that it was time to practice what I preach Josh had been after this button for a while and I was content leaving Virginia with the memory of digging the HMA and surprising him on his birthday. Glad there were two
