This spring was the detecting season that never happened for me. I had obligations with work, the family and kids sports, and I also built a deck for my house. I only got out a few times with a little success, so here’s a little update. My group of friends were kind enough to drag me out for a couple good times (Carolina Tom, Triple-nipple555, Bartek, Smokey the Cart, Treblehunter and Charlie), which really helped, and I got out once or twice on my own. A little silver on a hunt with the Venerable EastCoastHunter ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1527445503.463920.jpg

A nice 1794 liberty Cap with Jersey’s own hero Treblehunter. I managed 4 coppers that day with two being KG2’s (but I lost the pics!!)

And a quick hunt yesterday...I always like a big old late 18th c shoe buckle. Most guts from the last of the shoe buckle era were iron so these are a treat

My summer is a bust since I’ll be taking a ship down to Louisiana until August. Maybe this fall will be a bit better. Enjoy your hunts and gold luck

Well done Steve ,scrappy the deck is a beauty , I’m sure it will be well used !
The liberty cap is another great one for your collection
And who don’t like capped bust silver lol
Looking forward to the fall , I will be away most of it
But we will hunt in November. We hunt winters here lol
Safe trip to dry dock hh gl

That's a lot of neat finds you found! I like the coppers :)

Nice relics and old copper/silver coins, congratulations! :occasion14:

The deck is fantastic...I know how life sometimes finds us little time to detect...good luck in the fall. :icon_thumleft:

That 1794 LC is just killer. I remember looking at the date and being astounded at how clearly you could see it. I should have taken better pictures that day. Here is a picture of you and your little cohort, Bartek, on that fateful day.

Good luck to you, and I’ll see you soon.

At least you were out for some detecting! Nice Silvers and a beautiful deck. You did all that work on your own? You have a good hand working with timber. :notworthy:

Way to go buddy, I'm wanting to get out soon if I take a day off fishing.

I totally forgot about your European thespian tour Charles. November should be go time as long as my company doesn’t send me anywhere else.

Those thick early American coppers are the tough ones to find. Hopefully one of these days I’ll find a flowing hair or chain cent;)

Nice deck, great hunt, and safe travels this summer.

Yep, all built by my hand. In another life I built houses and owned a carpentry company too. But all that’s gone now and I just build things I can drink a pint upon. Lol.

Thanks old pal. You really need to find a way to combine both hobbies. I think you can if you really put your head into it. That said, I’m in for that hookah detecting offer once I get back from La. cheers

Congrats on your finds! Still looking for my first liberty cap and the trime.
And as I have told you before, that deck you've built deserves an easy BANNER, it would look great up there. :laughing7:

Great to see you post again Steve. Those are some good finds for just a few hunts-and the liberty cap is a winner! Great job with the deck-it's obvious you put a ton of work into it.

Steverino we may make a carpenter out of you yet. I give your deck 9.8 [emoji294]️s. You got a .2 deductions for not picture framing the outside but that’s all preference in the eye of the beholder. You know I can’t give you a full 10 [emoji294]️s lol. Really happy to see you get out a couple of times. That 94 Lib is quite a find pal. I’ve only been out a handful of times. The usual handful of shoe buckles and a few coppers. Latten spoon bowl. Too lazy to post lol. I hope you get some good hunting time in. Maybe this fall we will both have some time

Hi Scrappy. Nice job on the deck it looks great. Congrats on that. All the coins you dug are keepers for sure and are nice for me to see because we don’t get to see them up here in Ontario. Thank you so much for sharing your finds. Take care.

Wow Scrappy - what a great set of finds! The trime is on my bucket list - love that little beauty. Congrats to you mate, and well done on that deck! :occasion14:

You can stop by and pop a deck together for me anytime Steve! It shouldn’t be lost on anyone that while building a deck isn’t rocket science, building one CORRECTLY is a different matter. Well done...
Really nice finds, that stupid little trime still eludes me. Maybe today is the day....
