Let’s say you find the LDM… what’s next?

It was found and exploited years ago. The "legend" is way over.

Howdy Terry,

I can't seem to keep up with how many times the LDM has been found, in so many different places. Didn't you get the memo? It's lost again, no telling where it will turn up next.
Seems no one will. answer this basic question….what would you do?

I would keep it to myself, sell the gold to private buyers, barter with it for real estate, and automobiles, and invest in profitable if a bit risky stocks - as I have. :skullflag::laughing7:

I have to ask ..... what is the LDM....? i'm a greenhorn i know.. I'm new round these here parts...🐍

Ok... thanks for that... !
where did the storey come from??

So…if you find the mine….
Do you…keep quiet and slog back and forth and piecemeal nuggets?
Try to use 1872 mine act to claim it?
Or Cut a deal with the feds?

I’m just asking…,
I would get some ore and show it to Clay

I would show Clay Worst the ore to see if it matches with the match box. Then I’m thinking Hellcat, Hellcat!

Those are good and valid questions. If it was found - surely it would put the discoverer in a 'pickle' of a position.

Since no claims can be made out there (since 1984) and you can't "dig" back in there - it makes things tricky to deal with.

If one was to "come upon" the LDM - they would have to make just two choices.

1. How much Ore do you take with you
2. Does the discoverer decide to let the World know, or not?

With those two questions that one should ask themselves, would give you the answer needed. The second question all rests on the risk you take - letting the cat out-of-the-bag.

What I can say definitively, is if you release the discovery to the World - the Feds WILL step in, no doubt and that will be the end of that.

I too have ask this question here on TN - with little to no real good answer. It's what's UN-said, is the answer you're looking for.

If you find a treasure just keep your mouth shut and don't invite questions or any interest. But some folks just wouldn't be able to control themselves.

If I find any small rock bearing gold, I'll of course test it to see what's all in it, then get pics of the well known clues and landmarks nearby, if there aren't any then it's not the right site. My first priority will be to document the correct location, second priority will be to not let the location get lost again. I would build a folder to be given to a younger man than I to deal with, the correct location will require back breaking work to access. I'm past my shelf life on digging.
