Due to the “upgrade” to TNet last weekend…. This is last Sundays post.

Went to a new field … it’s grass and had seen a lump on LiDAR (pic below) so we wanted to investigate…. Unfortunately we only did a couple of hours as rain stopped play. We didn’t find much.. but just as the rain started ,I started finding lead, which is always a good sign, so we will defo go back.

Not sure what this first one is….. Pot mend, lead shapes, 2 buttons, harness bits, and crusty pre dec coins.

The views are amazing and you can clearly see the lynchets in the opposite fields.

Blossom, I re-annotated your LiDAR image. There are 2 areas outlined in yellow that caught my eye. Not that I know much about looking at LiDAR...but I think the area at 1 o'clock looks fairly flat surrounded by valleys on 3 sides . The other area at 7 o'clock has a right angle at the lower left corner and appears to overlook a pond/lake. Observation posts, or ?, or I'm just imagining things.

Brilliant… yes… both areas are on our list.. the one ive put a cross on.. is called Windser hill… am told the name Windser is sometimes given to where ancient tracks were…! Have added the google earth pic.. to give you reference. The Water is mannade Knipton Reservoir.. built in the 1700 to feed the nearby canal! xx

blossom, the Google Earth pic is very interesting. At the point above Knipton Reservoir, there appears to be a "U" shape pointing towards 4 o'clock. Not sure what it is/why its there, but it might be worth checking out.
