Thankyou Sonny. After a couple of years hunting, you'll see your collection grow. Just takes a lot of walkin, patients & of course having great friends helps.. : ) I was lucky enough to get to know some great expert hunters/collectors who had been collecting for many many years & didn't mind helping my collection out. If it wasn't for my dear friends I wouldn't have such a wonderful collection. For that I am very greatful..

Love you guys, all of ya..lol

Thanks for your kind words sir..

The word Kadohadacho signifies in the native language "real chiefs," kadi being the word for "chief," and it is from an abbreviation of this term that we get the word Caddo. They were also identified as "Caddo proper"..

Here are some great links for you.

Molly.

Get down here to central FL and I can guarantee you find some sharks teeth, assuming you mean fossils. I can take you to the Peace.

The Peace? I need to look that place up. You know guys, I don't hunt anywhere where I can get into trouble. Most the good places here are on city prop. Definetly a no no..So no sharks teeth yet.. :-\ Also with the heat & bugs here, it makes for a dayum miserable hunt..
I might take you up on that though CT.. :D
CT, if you have any teeth fossils post them in the fossil section & send me a link hon. I'd like to see them.
I never thought to ask Tom if he has any.. ::)

I know, its wonderful isn't it. I sure miss VA, I had access to most fields there. That's ok though I'm going back there soon to hunt my old fields. I found 250 artifacts in NC/VA. I'll post some, so ya'll can see. My NC/VA collection means a lot to me, that was my very first experience with arrowheads, its so much fun when you first hunt. I used to get so excited when i found something, I would jump up n down n sing (people must have thought i was a nut job) & when it was dry I would do my own lil rain dance. ;D One time it rainned for 2 weeks solid. ;D "sigh" yeah I miss NC/VA..

Thanks for your kind words guys, much appreciated..

Molly..

Thankyou too hon.

Molly, You live in Fla. as do I. If you want to get sharks teeth go to Caspersen Park in Sararsota County and use a sand flea rake to collect teeth. I have thousands from going there. They are mostly small but occasionally you get a nice one or two. Another good spot is Hogtown Creek in Gainsville. Sift the gravel for nice teeth and also arrowheads. It's steaming hot right now so the beach is great!

My goodness, what a fine collection. In the Caddoan part, the second picture, the round stone with the hole in it, what is that? Maybe a shaft straightener? I'm always interested in what something was used for. Excellent celt, too.
