Does this point look promising to have authenticated or is it a modern reproduction

It wasn't marked It was in the box wrapped up I paid 800 dollars for a box of megalodon teeth it was in there at bottom wrapped up in old newspaperSorry that I said auction instead of estate sale. What did the estate have it marked at (not asking what you paid, only what they were asking)
I wish you the best but don't get your hopes up until it is authenticated by a reputable authenticator. As stated it has a lot of red flags, but that doesn't mean it's not authentic, only that there are a lot of red flags to an experienced collector or buyer.
Thank you mine shaft I will do just that I bet they were all baffledI forgot how many artifacts I posted one time on TN 2 or 3, one was a stone pipe 1 banner stone and something else members said they looked modern. Any way I had shipped them off to be authenticated before checking here first. Got them back all 3 were museum Quality reproductions lol. Good luck.
Reminds me of a time I purchased a 1858 Remington engraved and gold washed cylinder with mother of pearl grips I got it cheap it was pristine turns out everyone thought it was fake because it was in immaculate condition to good to be true museum pieceThank you mine shaft I will do just that I bet they were all baffled

That’s not Knife River Flint. It’s Flint River material from GA. This biface I made is the same material. Mine is not heated. The Clovis is obviously heated. Paleo Indians NEVER heat treated flint to make points. That point is newly made. I’ve only been knapping since 1985. I know a little.😉It is also made of Knife River Flint like yours.
