I have not had much time to detect as of late but today after the thunder storms I was able to sneak out for an hour.
There is an old empty house that I've had my eye on but never got around to tracking down the owner. I was driving by last week and the house was being knocked down so I knew I had to hit the site be for progress made it off limits. Today I did a test hunt for an hour on just the area right next to the street. I still need to track down the owner before I enter the property and now I really have a reason to do so.
There was a large amount of junk signals from the tear down but I really enjoyed the keepers which included: a 1856 Large Cent, the face to a Breitling Bentley Watch (real or fake??), two flat buttons, P.F.Co. skeleton key, two Indian Cents (1890 and 1908) and 5 wheaties (oldest being 1919).
Can anyone tell if the watch is real? I think it is not but the wife thinks it is...I hope the wife is right. This watch sells for $7,000 and the diamond bezel sells for an extra $3,000.
Does anyone know what company the key is for?? It just reads P.F.Co..
I was really happy with the Large cent. I've found other large cents but this is by far in the best shape of the ones I've found with the full liberty. The flat button next to the large cent is marked PLATED on the back so I'm assuming silver plated and the other flat button is missing the shank which has a greek key pattern around the back of the button. I was surprised to see a pattern on the back but the front looks plain.
Tommorrow I have to track down the owner and see if I can get access to the entire site although from the outside looking in I think there will be tons of trash that will need to be removed but from the finds so far I think it will be worth it...plus I did not find any silver coins there yet.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

Took the watch to a jeweler and they checked the diamonds with a diamond tester and they are fakes. Oh well...maybe next time. Even though I thought it was fake there was a little part of me that was hoping it was real. I know a few people thought it may be the owners watch but this is doubtful since the house prior to being knocked down was empty for as long as I can remmember. The site is located on a pretty busy road so I think someone just threw it out the window into the brush.
I also checked out the owner and found out it is an LLC that purchased the property within the last two years which is not a good sign. Companies are usually less likely to let you on a property due to the possible liabilities of someone getting hurt but I still will reach out to them this week. I'm dying to get back there and check out the rest.
