Lake Meade, how come nobody cares

Because the runoff contains soil that the river picks up during it's run to the Gulf. That soil helps to rebuild the delta region at the mouth. Without the delta the southern states bordering the river will have worse flooding than they already suffer from during hurricanes.
Not diverting the river, just some of the water from the river. Not sure if you have ever seen the flooding caused by the Mississippi, Missouri, and Ohio rivers, I have, it is a major flood with a huge price tag. the 2019 flood alone was over 20 billion in damages and Mississippi was above flood stage for 6 months.

I plumb left out the Ohio River, and the Tennessee River too. I saw first hand the damage caused by the 2019 flood.I can be on the banks of the Mississippi in 20 minutes of my house. It,s an awesome sight. It backs up the Arkansas when the Miss gets that high, caused major flooding in small communities inside the levee.

For comparative purposes look at Wikipedia and the History of the Panama Canal. It's concept and it's planning evolved over time. It took creative thinking and personal initiative and common sense to make it work, completed in 1914.

When you think about it, it's a tremendous success and never gets any credit because it would show that mankind can achieve great things. Mankind achieving great things is not taught in our schools anymore, nor is creative thinking or personal initiative. Doesn't meet the socialist agenda.

Exactly! Don,t sit around imagining up reasons it can,t be done, get off your arse and do it! It,s an engineering problem, engineers are among the most pragmatic people around. The people who say it can,t be done should never get in the way of the people doing it.

Here's a thought! Maybe we should try to do more about eliminating air pollution so that we can stem or maybe even reverse climate change! :tongue3:

That is a brilliant idea. Can you please direct me to definitive proof that man is causing climate change. Wait, thought it was global warming.
And as has been pointed out, china and India are by far the largest polluters. You ever been to Brazil. You can see the black smoke streaming out of their boilers in ethanol plants for miles.
So please share some facts for us. I wait with bated breath.

That,s pretty good! Polluting the air with ethanol plant exhaust while making ethanol to reduce pollution from burning gasoline. Don,t you call that circular logic? I still remember when it was predicted we were headed for another Ice age in just a few years.

Someone needs to explain how you stop China from producing 2.5 times the amount of Greenhouse Gas as America.

For the people concerned about global warming. Would you be interested to know about all contributions to global warming? I think it would be important to consider everything.

I wonder about the contribution of volcanic activity to global warming? I never hear about it being discussed. Once in a while you hear about a volcano in Hawaii erupting and forming a new island.
Or one erupted in Iceland once and shut down air travel between Europe and America for a while.
You think that maybe it's not a big enough deal. But Wikipedia says that there are 5,000 known volcanos on earth of which 1,500 ARE CONSIDERED ACTIVE. BY active I guess that means it pumping out hot gases, lava, steam? Go read Wikipedia Volcanic Activity and form your own judgement.

Wouldn't you want some scientists to study this and give us an honest explanation of this contribution to global warming?

I wonder why that doesn't happen? Doesn't fit the Socialist agenda does it?

After seeing firsthand all the politics, permitting, impact studies, and legal bs to run overhead lines from a generation plant to a substation (37 miles) I'd bet we'd be long dead & gone before that canal was half way constructed. Good idea though!

A railroad right of way would be better since they already own the land.
Or a pipeline. We literally move crude oil all around the world in them.

Or they are volcanoes and we can’t really do anything about them. Other topics that are typically studied tend to be human caused.

They do most of our manufacturing. That’s why their numbers are so high. We outsourced the pollution.

That does not include the active vents beneath the oceans.

If climate change activists were really sincere they would not drive an automobile, use fossil fuel electricity, or natural gas, and would trash their smart phone and laptops made from oil, and by slave labor. The height of climate change irony are those fools that block roadways THUS causing tons of pollution from idling vehicles. Oh yea. TVs have to go. Anybody that screams about man made climate change and uses any of these devises is a hypocrit. In my humble oponion.

Well let's see. Since over 90% of scientists agree that humankind has and is contributing to global warming....Do some research of your own from reputable SCIENCE sources. :icon_thumright:
