king george V

...French Canadian, since we were talking about Canadian coins and he mentioned Napoleon. Must be a coin from Quebec :walk:

Just a dumb comment.

Anyways, in weird news, like I said in the past, once I start thinking about a coin, it magically appears in one of my rolls?

Someone at the bank left over 5 bucks in Canadian in the reject slot, and out came a 1933 nickel. Another King George, only an hour after I read this thread!

I find a "Bearded King" in every $300-$350 roll of pennies (a.k.a. "cents") CWR's I sort.

It helps being at a U$ofA Port of entry for Canuk-A-Ville and friendly with the vault teller at the bank closest to the ferry.
I've even found a Bearded King 50 cent coin (Stirling) in a CWR roll of halves, only once, but it sure was fun!

I scored a 1918 sterling half with king George on it from a bank in San Antonio TX. I think it is my most valuable collectors coin. I hope it's worth $50 or so. I'm going to hang on to it for now.

I commonly find Canadian pennies 1940-present in US penny boxes

As far as pre1940 goes:

George V
1932x1 in Canadian Box
1933x1 in US CWR

George VI
1937x1 in Canadian CWR
1938x1 in Canadian CWR

i've found several 1937-1939 canadian cents in rolls, the KGV cents are just a bit harder to come across.

Wow, thats a great find. I've yet to find any sterling.

I've found a few KG5. They are pretty cool and I love to find them but they're pretty rare in my area.
