I dug this King George II copper and relics on our latest Colonial site. The highlight of the hunt was a 1770's shoe buckle chape!

Great finds Kirk. Coppers are always nice, as are the buckles. You do appear to have a nice mix of buttons as well. I will jump on the band wagon and say I'd like to see a close up of the U.S. Grant button too.

Tried but haven't been able to match it up.

There's no reason to think it's a modern trinket looking at it, and assuming it was dug with old targets, I'd say it's a pretty good find.

Kyle, do you notice a trail of broken crack pipes when you detect behind your brother?

I think it's lack of sleep. He detects some sundays after pulling an all nighter at work and with his puppy.

You know, having done that MANY TIMES I will actually accept it as an excuse. When I first started detecting we hunted pretty much all day on every Sunday. It just so happened I worked pretty much every Sunday night at 10pm or midnight. If we had a good day detecting it wasn't so bad going in... but what it was a bad day detecting it was a brutal night at work. I remember dozens and dozens of nights going in more tired than I should have been even getting off my shift. Walking zombie.

PS... and my detecting Sunday usually followed the Saturday night drunk. Looking back I have no idea how I did it.
