I dug this King George II copper and relics on our latest Colonial site. The highlight of the hunt was a 1770's shoe buckle chape! :headbang:

Great finds Kirk. Coppers are always nice, as are the buckles. You do appear to have a nice mix of buttons as well. I will jump on the band wagon and say I'd like to see a close up of the U.S. Grant button too. :tongue3: :D

Re: King George II and Chape from a Colonial Shoe Buckle

Better make it quick before the pac-man button works his way up. :laughing7:

If the 1860s are "too new" for you boys, then pack that button up and mail it to me. I'll give it a happy home. :D

Re: King George II and Chape from a Colonial Shoe Buckle

Ok, I vote banner on the buckle part. :laughing9:

Very cool. Compaign pin/button. I'd be quite happy to find one of those tomorrow!

Nice finds Kirk...but as noted, you missed the mark with the button...great potential there for a rare find!

Sweet! Is it rare? :dontknow:

Tried but haven't been able to match it up.

There's no reason to think it's a modern trinket looking at it, and assuming it was dug with old targets, I'd say it's a pretty good find.

Kyle, do you notice a trail of broken crack pipes when you detect behind your brother? ;D
I think it's lack of sleep. He detects some sundays after pulling an all nighter at work and with his puppy. :laughing7:

You know, having done that MANY TIMES I will actually accept it as an excuse. :D When I first started detecting we hunted pretty much all day on every Sunday. It just so happened I worked pretty much every Sunday night at 10pm or midnight. If we had a good day detecting it wasn't so bad going in... but what it was a bad day detecting it was a brutal night at work. I remember dozens and dozens of nights going in more tired than I should have been even getting off my shift. Walking zombie.

PS... and my detecting Sunday usually followed the Saturday night drunk. Looking back I have no idea how I did it.

Kirk'dude another fine post of the colonial diggin's ! :headbang: :icon_thumleft:

Gotta love the KG II but I'm leaning towards the Grant button / pin as my fav.this time simply cause its 'presidential'
Was my fav. till I saw the buckle remains !

I'm with IronPatch on this one ..BANNER !!!
Think 'bout the po' colonial dude that lost it and had to walk around with one very loose shoe in the brutal Pennsylvania winter !

Congrats on the killer finds brotha :icon_thumright:  :icon_thumleft:

Your right IP I retract my sympathetic statement. HE HAS NO EXCUSE. ;D

I bet it's easy to push his buttons when he is tired like that. ;D
