Far to go to begin to recover folks. Many but not all tourist places got through ,the smaller islands were slammed.
One report said Long Island was halved...the Island we have an acquaintance ,(SADS/ Kevin) on.
If ever some one needed help helping himself and others.....
Sewage, dead animals, in water in areas..the effect of saltwater saturation on plants may well stunt farming attempts..
It's beyond "my roof is damaged", it's an island lifeway becoming an in-habitable condition that gets worse before it gets better.


EXUMA, Bahamas -
It's been nearly one week since Hurricane Joaquin made landfall in the Bahamas, but the recovery is expected to take months.

"People are hungry. They're thirsty. They haven't drank water in three days," Clinton Rolle, who lost his home and business in the storm, said.

The impact is devastating for hundreds of victims, who lost their homes and businesses like Rolle.

"Today, one of the hardest hit areas is south point of Long Island. They're devastated," Jose Gonzalez, of Palm Beach Fire Rescue, said. "Their homes are gone. They have no power. Power isn't expected to be on for several months."

Hey, Kevin's been good to me..least I can do is give up a night out on the town knowing it might help him be able to stay and carry on helping others besides himself..
It sucks when the powers out, but that is a minor inconvenience often remedied quickly here.
Folks out there with no conveniences for weeks , maybe months....let alone the damage to homes and communities I'll remember when the power is temporarily off here.
And know how good I got it even without electricity.

I believe the Royal Navy are there, which will cheer Kevin up, as all the Army boys love a Sailor

On a serious note, I think they are all doing the best they can but will be a long uphill struggle to get back to normality. They sent a note out saying "Happy Christmas & New Year" as they know they'll still be battling when we are all relaxing and eating too much for the months to come.
