Sorry man I feel you pain I also had to wait when I got mine try air testing everything in your house

Hah good call. I'm trying to just absorb all of the info I can on this thing so I can hit the ground running. Very much looking forward to hitting a few spots with this to see just what the gamma may have left behind. The limitations of my gamma were realized when I started detecting with 2 buddies, one of whom has an ATPRO and one of whom has nautilus. Both machines were able to pull good targets out of ground that I had pounded with the gamma. The only noticeable difference? Depth. They were all targets I had found similar ones of on the same sites. Buttons coins etc. The only difference was the depth. There were plenty that the nautilus owner would call me over to see if I could get a vdi on to help confirm a target for him and my detector either erratically detected it or didn't pick it up at all. Very excited after seeing the depth on this new machine when it is set up correctly.

Another thing you'll love is recovery speed/target separation trashy areas that are loaded with iron are much easier to hunt .im guessing by the end of summer your friends will be thinking about an upgrade

The good news is after the snow melts the soil should be nice and soft.

I'd like to make a few suggestions to help you, (save time / learning curve and find better targets and relics) only because I'm assuming your sites are old (like mine) and I wish I would have done this mods from the very start......... start out in the program called "Deus Fast", I think it's program #3, make two changes, change the frequency to 8 kHz and change the tones to "full tones" - dig EVERYTHING with a high sounding tone or VDI over 40, any target with the slightest high tone to it, it may only be heard for a fraction of a second but normally at old sites it's a coin or good relic. It's going to be a lot of tones in your head at first, but after digging a few targets, the tones (many many tones) in your headphones will all start to come together and make sense. Once you go over your site change the frequency to 12 or 18 and go over it again, stuff will still pop out of the ground. I stil go to sites I've been to 5 times and still pluck good relics by changing settings. Also do not be afraid to change the reactivity setting to 4 or 5 if there's a lot of nails, if you hear a tiny high tone, you can usually wiggle the coil a half inch and isolate it, I found 4 flat buttons and an 1803, 4 or 5 large cent in a bed of nails and big square nuts where a building once was using these high reactivity settings. You will dig your share of junk at first but that's kinda the trade off with the incredible separation speed of this machine.

I do not hunt public parks or many sites with modern trash (aluminum / pull tabs / foil) - you will need different settings for these areas, but whatever you do, do not run 18 kHz in sites with modern trash, you will go nuts digging trash.

Good luck!

I'm going to just get mine this spring because of that. Would rather not have one than just looking at it. Mid april i will be able to hunt in areas that the sun shines on all day.

You could set up something to practice isolating a target and wiggling back the coil until the sound disappears
..that's the fastest way to pinpoint I found
No buttons required and no annoying squill noise.
Just the sweet sound of fast reactivity on your good target.

Yes, get Andy's book.
Read it through don't get too overwhelmed you'll absorb information and you'll realize it's really a super simple easy to navigate through machine
...hope the snow melts fast!
