That's a lot of booty for 4 days. Looks like you had a ball.

the beach pictured was fun - the one next door to my resort was not - it was one of the hardest beaches i ever worked
I think others that came before me there - gave up on it - I heard from staff others were there - but I found crusty coins and crusty silver there
and the gold was NOT recent drops - bottom was muck on top of dead sea grass roots on top of clay - took up to 5 mins sometimes to retieve a target
and Im lucky I had gloves - but I got 3 gold out of there and I know theres a lot more if i ever go back

I went on a zip line expedition while on a cruise...Holy Crap! It's the Devil's playground outside of the resort.

FIRST ONE WAS EASY - CHECKED INTO ROOM - GOT MY GEAR - HEADED DOWN ABOUT 4PM - PUT MY MASK ON - TURNED MACHINE ON - WALKED ABOUT 10 STEPS - GOT A HIT - 14K WEDDING BAND - 1ST TARGET - THOUGHT I WAS IN EDEN AND WAS GONNA STIKE IT RICH - DIDNT GET ANOTHER RING TILL ABOUT 2 HRS LATER AND IT WAS A TITANIUM MIX BAND - THE NEXT DAY i GOT 4 THOUGH
BUT AFTER THAT - MOST OF THEM i WORKED HARD FOR

Your my hero, you got me started, still trying to figure out why you need a mask. I never put my head under water, that water is crystal clear, why the mask?
Wow, that is allot of gold, I'd be scared to death in a country like that. Great finds sir, you are good, no matter what I think about the mask.

i USED TO SNORKEL ALL THE TIME - THEN I GOT INTO UNDERWATER PHOTGRAPHY FOR AWHILE - i DABBLED IN WATER HUNTING A LITTLE (WITH A LAND MACHINE ON AN INNER TUBE) - EX WIFE SAID - "YOU SNORKEL ALL THE TIME - YOUR IN THE WATER ALL THE TIME..WHY NOT GET A WATER MACHINE?" - THAT WAS 19 YRS AGO
SO ONLY NATURAL TO WEAR A MASK - ASK ANYONE THAT HUNTS WITH ME - 9 OUT OF 10 TIMES I OUT HUNT THEM BECAUSE i WEAR A MASK - i CAN SEE THE GOOD AREAS THAT HAVE POTENTIAL - i CAN SEE JUST WHERE TO PLACE MY SCOOP - I CAN SEE FINDS (RECENT DROPS) SOMETIMES BEFORE i EVEN SCOOP - I SEE FINDS SOMETIMES BEFORE I EVEN SWING OVER THEM - I SEE SCOOP MARKS WHERE OTHERS HAVE BEEN AND CAN TELL SOMETIMES IF SOMEONES BEEN THERE RECENTLY (WHICH WILL CHANGE THE WAY I HUNT A SPOT) - I CAN SEE OLD BOTTLES AND PAPER MONEY (HAVE FOUND OVER $200+ ON THE BOTTOM SO FAR) - YOU CAN SEE DANGERS - BAD FISH - SHARP METALS - GLASS. IVE HUNTED WITH GUYS THAT DANCE AROUND TRYING TO PLACE THEIR FOOT BEHIND THEIR COIL AND THEN PLACING THEIR SCOOP IN FRONT OF THEIR FOOT - AND THEN MISS THE TARGET AND HAVE TO SCOOP ABOUT 5 TO MY 1 - IF I CAN SEE - I'LL OUT FIND YOU EVERY TIME - I CAN ALSO SEE ITEMS FALL OUT OF MY SCOOP AND THRU MY SCOOP - LIKE STUD EARINGS ..SMALL SINKERS.. SMALL CHAINS - WHERE GUYS WILL SCOOP TIME AND TIME AGAIN . THERE ARE TIMES IN ROCKY SPOTS YOU CANT SCOOP AND YOU HAVE TO DROP DOWN - IVE HUNTED DEAD REEF AREAS THAT ARE SOLID CORAL AND YOU CANT SCOOP AT ALL - SO YOU HAVE TO DROP AND FAN ...OTHERS REASONS TO - BUT YOU GET THE IDEA

THE PICS YOU SEE - PLACES LIKE THAT ARE MORE UNCOMMON THAN COMMON - EVEN IN THE CARRIBEAN
BUT A PLACE LIKE THAT ITS EASY CAUSE YOU CAN SEE - WITH OR WITHOUT A MASK
I HEAD OUT AS FAR AS I CAN AND WORK PARRALELL TO THE SHORE LINE - THAT SPOT WAS LIKE 100 YRDS LONG
AND I WORKED MY WAY IN - I WAS FIRST ONE IN THE WATER - BUT WHEN PEOPLE STARTED SHOWING UP - I HAD TO GO TO A ZIGZAG
PATTERN - BUT THEN SPOTS OPENED UP BETWEEN THE GROUPS AND I'D GO TO THERE AND WORK IN AND OUT
SOME GUYS JUMP IN AND GRID RIGHT OFF THE BAT - LETS SAY THEY HEAD IN ON THE LEFT SIDE OF A BEACH AND SLOWLY WORK THERE WAY - IN AND OUT TO THE RIGHT - THEY MAY NOT GET CRAP ON THAT LEFT SIDE AND SOME OTHER GUY MAY JUMP IN ON THE RIGHT AND KILL IT BEFORE THEY GET THERE - I USUALLY JUMP IN AROUND CHEST DEEP AND WORK STRAIGHT DOWN AND TRY AND FIND GOOD BOTTOM OR JUST START POUNDING THE TARGETS - IF I FIND A TARGET RICH AREA - THATS WHEN I GRID - IF IT RUNS OUT - I GO BACK TO THE STRAIGHT LINE AGAIN TILL I HIT ANOTHER

THATS WHAT IVE ALWASY HEARD AND WHY IT HAS TAKEN ME SO LONG TO GO THERE - MY GAL AND I ALWAYS LIKE TO RENT A CAR AND DRIVE TO DIFFERENT SPOTS - WE WENT IN JUNE AND RENTED A CAR - DROVE ALL OVER - I GOT 21 RINGS ON THAT TRIP - HAD I STAYED AT MY RESORT - I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN 2
THIS TRIP WE TOOK TAXIS BUT WENT TO 3 OTHERS SPOTS THAN MY RESORT - THE KEY IS GETTING BACK BEFORE IT GETS DARK

I FOUND MY SHARE OF BOTTLE CAPS AND SCREW CAPS FROM HARD LIQUOR - NOT TOO MANY PULLTABS - THE LOCALS DONT PULL THEM OFF THE CANS LIKE THE IDIOTS UP HERE DO (ITS OKAY IF YOURE GIVING THEM TO CHARITY)

Gotcha, after I posted I thought to myself, "why did I say that" I have an advanced certification, although I have not dove in over twenty years. The lake I have been doing all summer, the visibility is maybe two foot, called ceder water. I can go bare foot in the one area and I scoop less, with my sneakers on, I have gotten much better, but have to allow a little when I mark that way. Thursday, (don't ask me why, must of been bored) I scooped 15 times for a target I knew was falling thru. finally got it to stay and it was a 22 casing. It was a nice number, 50ish, kept thinking it was an earring. I'm at the point in that area I have something to line my scoop where I'll be able to get those little targets. The water is so dark, might as well close my eyes, it has helped me tremendously on solid ground. It has really made me learn my machine much better. Thanks for your help from the past and also this post. You can bet I'll have my mask on when I get in clearer water.
