Thanks !

Maybe a rosary crucifix. Earlier ones had a skull and cross bones at the base.

Yours has been in the ground for a long time but not ancient. I'm guessing early 20th C.

The patina is very red. It may be a nickle alloy. Cool find!

The way it's constructed leads me to believe it was made in a range of the 1960s to the 1970s. Hang on to it. Be handy if you get into an accident.

Update: Yeah as dcm says it's probably early than I'm guessing. I always thought that was funny on the ones that say notify a priest. If I got in a car wreck, I'd prefer an emergency response team before the priest.

About 2,020 years ago the son of a virgin who said we should all love each other and respect God fell out of favor with his Jewish neighbors and they convinced the Roman overlords to put Him to death by crucifixion. That cross you found reminds Catholics of His suffering for the sins of the world.

Please allow me to post a politely intended Historical-facts correction. Jesus' arrest did not happen because He "fell out of favor with his Jewish neighbors." Many working-class Jews were his followers. (Jesus was a member of the working-class.) His arrest was due to pissing off the Jewish Religious-Political Hierarchy... the Priest-Class, Scribes (religion-lawyers), and Pharisees.. who viewed Him as an intolerable threat to their power and status at the very top of biblical Jewish Society. That's who engineered His arrest -- not "His Jewish neighbors."

Some additional factual information for anybody who might have wondered:
Keossvin's find is a Catholic Christianity pendant... which shows Christ Jesus suffering on the cross. Protestant Christianity's preferred version is the Empty Cross... because "He is Risen."
