This month has been outstanding for me. I have never in my life been this lucky and just want to say thank you to whoever is looking out for me.

I went out today for few hours just to kill time. I wasn’t expecting much so I was just taking my time digging targets. I digging lots of thrash as usual along with pennies. I was using the 800 and since I wasn’t finding much I started just jumping between park 1 and field 1. After a few hours I came across this iffy target that would jump all over the place with negative numbers and hit 20-21 once in a while. I’m like another Penny, I guess I will dig since it’s my last target. I dug it and I see this weird coin staring back at me. I grab it and I’m a little confused now cause it sure doesn’t look like a Penny at all. After a few seconds go by it finally clicks, OMG this a fracken gold coin. Now I’m shaking And trying to figure out what to do next. After a minute or two I figured I should put it on top of the detector to let it breath and take a picture. Well, here it is and I hope
this isn’t a dream. Thank you for looking and remember to dig everything because you just never know. HH

Dude, did you find that where I think you found it. We thought someone was going to pull a gold coin from there. You found what everyone of us hope to stumble across someday. Super find and congratulations. Don’t clean it:notworthy:

AWESOME coin man.
BANNER VOTE
You just went to the front of the line.

But did you do the detectorists gold dance? Awesome find sir, still waiting for mine.

BANNER!!! What type of location were you in??? Park, house site???

Congratualtions on the killer coin find! :occasion14:

That is AWESOME man! Congrats! Can't do much better than that!

Banner for sure!!!! That is an EPIC find! I’d have had a heart attack!

Congrats on the gold coin! I sometimes wonder if I have ever walked over one and didn't dig it.

Great find If I ever find a gold coin I may just stop looking right than. For me that would be ultimate find and I would think I could never do better after that

I’m still in disbelief and I don’t think I will be able to top it off. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope that I do though. Good luck to you out there.

Congrats on an awesome find! I believe it is a 1905-S $5 Gold Coin and with the Mint Mark so far to the West Northwest and the lower curve and tail virtually missing, it may be a Variety. Also, I may be wrong but the Mint Mark appears to be upside down. There are some Mint Mark Varieties for the Date and Mint but so far I have not found one similar to your's.

BANNER!!! What type of location were you in??? Park, house site???

I wish I could give more information but I still want to hunt this spot a few more times and don’t want it drying up on me.

- b3y0nd3r - the coin was about 7” deep

- Steve in PA - there’s no doubt in my mind that most of us have walked past at least one killer find. Most of us detect god sites going one direction when in reality it should be at least 3. HH
