My first ever gold ring pulled from the ground! I did find a wallet full of rings a couple years ago, but those were stashed, so I don't count them :tongue3:. Anyway, this the first time I have ever seen a gold ring in my plug. It was an awesome feeling! It was a choppy signal that was reading in the 40s and 50s on the AT Max. Once it was out of the hole, I was sure that it was going to be another pull tab or beaver tail. It was a huge surprise to see gold! It was an even bigger surprise to see that the band was engraved with "NEW ORLEANS. 1911"! The hallmark is a star and "A", which is for the Allsopp Brothers. They made high end jewelry in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I tested it when I got home and it tests 14k. This was definitely a great way to end the hunt. Thanks for looking and HH!

Congrats!!! Nothing beats that pounding you get in your chest when you lay eyes on a ring, especially that first one. WTG

You can not beat Old Gold Jewelry.

That's a NICE one to.

Really nice ring :icon_thumleft:
if you want more gold rings - you gotta get in the waters
I used to do 10% water 90 % land with around 10 a year
I do the opposite now - one of my better yrs was 72 gold

Even a blind chicken gets a piece of corn every once in a while.:laughing7:

Congratulations of a very fine piece of jewelry. Indeed, that glint of gold and that feeling that goes with it when you see it in a plug is downright ADDICTING! It never gets old and hopefully you won't have to wait another 23 years. If you concentrate on those mid tones and don't worry too much on the VDI numbers, i suspect those gold ring numbers will skyrocket to at least 1 or two a year or more!

Congratulations on such a beautiful ring. Wow over 100 years old! That’s not just an average ring, it’s one with a 100 plus year history. Outstanding find!

That is a beautiful ring!!! Congratulations Is the stone torques?

Thank you for all the replies everyone! I don't normally get excited over jewelry, but this one is pretty special to me. Not only is it my first gold ring, 1911 is the year my grandfather was born. Thanks again and HH!

Today was my first gold ring, as well, so congrats! I know the feeling! Here is my video of it from this morning:

That's very cool! Thanks to your G'Pa for guiding your hand.

Congrats on your first, true gold ring find... she sure is a beauty. A good thing about it... you don't have to ask everybody on how old it is :icon_thumleft:. SD
