I found this bullet on private property that a friend of mine owns in Dinwiddie Virginia.
This property saw a lot of action during the Civil War. I have found many other bullets.
And, a few other things.

But, the Confederate soldier that had this one, carved a face on it. I could be wrong, But,
I think the soldier carved the face of Jesus on this bullet. That is what it looks like to me.

I had my son, and my sister look at it, and they agreed with me.
This is the best picture I could get of it.

jraven,

I see the face on your ring. Do you know how the image got on it?

No I just snapped the picture and it was there.... This might sound crazy ,but everytime I would take a picture of this ring some sort of face would turn up in the stone... This one just happen to look like Jesus.. I took several pics when I decided to post it.. :icon_scratch: The original post was about a month ago or so.. Well not everytime, that's a little of an exaggeration, but quite a bit...

Wow! That neg sure shows up good. The description of Jesus was something I came across so long ago that I do not remember where, even before computers! But I will try to find it for you so it may tale a long time. I almost moves 15 years ago so packed many things away. Interesting things! The little carving was one of them. I also have some civil was buttons that are the oldest and in best shape that I can not find. And much much much more treasures!

i would say crude attempt at a chessman

I'd say random carving and humans being what they are... wanting to "see" something in everything esp. when it comes to religion.. but that is just me.. not at all trying to offend! I guess I could look at my carved bullets and see many things..

No offense taking. That's why I put the picture here, to get opinions on it.

I see the baboon and the dog! Hallelujah!

The ring and the bullet both have so much cross-appeal -the Jesus, the Confederates, the mother-of-pearl.

I would think that a publicity appearance on 'Antiques Roadshow' would be of immediate importance, followed by broad exposure via internet forums in anticipation of a spirited auction on EBay.

Is there any chance that could have been carved by a kombat killed general?

Good eyes.

A few weeks ago I believe you asked me something? ...and I meant to reply but never came across the post again. I don't think it's my imigination. :-\ I'd do my best to answer anything but can't give away my secrets. :D

To me Nick's pic looks like a Wookie.....
Beauty is in the eye of the bullet owner.......

Keep safe...

Not sure what a kombat general is. As I said twice before on this thread the Jesus bullet is not for sale.

Nick, Can't say I agree with the comparison you make with the Jesus bullet and Santa

BUT, I do think you should share with us, what ever you were drinking, or smoking
when you made the comparison.

I did not expect you to agree ... In fact I expected this kind of answer from you ...

I am a non-smoker However , On Occasion, I enjoy the amusing House Wine ... unfortunately this was not one of them ...

I find it quite conforting, when two people can come to a mutual understanding on how they feel about things.

Thank you Keith, I put the bullet on this thread for anyone that was interested to look at.
I don't expect every one to see what I see on it. A lot of the responce I have received has
been houmous, some with sarcasma, and some like you, give a sensible responce, agreeing or not
with me. I welcome all these types of responce. And, I in turn will respond.

Okay, excuse the unsteady hand, but here is a VERY rough outline.
Now that I think of it... This looks like Abraham Lincoln. Look at a 5 dollar bill and tell me what you think... Maybe the soldier carved Honest Abe in the bullet and wanted to make a special delivery...

..and that's cool.. I guess what I am saying is.. yes it looks carved but more randomly carved to me.. not a purposeful rendition of anything.. just my opinion.. no more.. no less... plus the area in question is so small when compared to the rest of the bullet.. the best carved bullet I have ever seen was a .69 carved into a skull... and he used the whole bullet.. but I am a firm believer in "you dug it.. you call it".. either way.. still a great find!
