Got out into the button field and two inches of fresh snow. Found a great advantage to snow in large fields. You can really make tight patterns and see exactly where you have been. Found two indian heads. The first is an 1867 and the other I can't tell. Also found a great little belt axe or hatchet, small shot and a couple of buttons. Going to try another field tomorrow a few towns over. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks for looking. .Lance

How many buttons have you found from there?
HHs
I don't know exactly rasrandy, but I would say about 45 to 50 in this one field.

Awesome finds!! What do the buttons say on them?
Thanks Jake. It's not too exciting, "Orange Gilt, Standard" ...Lance

Nice Indians!
The '67 is a better date.
How come you can't get the date off the other one? They both look to be in good shape.

Yeah, you would think so. It is good everywhere but where the date is, and there is nothing there. I think I can see the last number, possibly a 6. Oh well...

Hey Comfy,
I have also found some like that. Must be a weak strike.
Keep um coming.

Well done! What a field you've got there to hunt. Never know what else is lurking in the ground there waiting for you to detect!

Really nice finds Lance!!!

And good luck to you for your next outing!

Nana ;)

Nice finds Comfy, but I have to tell ya one thing sand and 80 deg. you can still see where you have been! Oh my sunburn! Nice finds I hope you find something really terriffic before the freeze. You need to come out here in Feb. I think everyone on the forum will agree. Congrats Bro!

Great finds, Lance! I thought I knew where I had been while pushing leaves to the side, but you got to be doing a tight pattern in the snow! :)

Wow, great finds, mmmmm i'll have to try the snow bit. Only thing is here in Ohio when it snows that hard it the ground is so hard you can't dig any targets. Was wondering how you cleaned the Indian heads, everyone i've ever tried to clean didn't make it. Must be better soil where ever you are, nice finds anyway and HH
