I came across theses on top of a little series of what I think are rock caves off of a stream.
Are they petroglyphs, and if so would you know what tribe or what they mean. I’m off grid camping in southern Utah.
The last two pics are on their side, flip them to the right.
The third picture of the big boulder, looking down the stream, looks like it's a fish out of water. Look for some gold around there! Might be a stash closeby too! Look for single stick pointing at something like a big tree or another rock! Don't pick anything up until you're sure! Do you have a metal detector? The first set of pictures the second picture, can you a vertical shot of that. I didn't see a animal face . The turtle in the picture cracked forming the the head looking down!
The last picture looking down the river the fish boulder, and down you have another huge rock, dig around and look look on land ! This sure is a honey to me! A huge tribe of Indians lived around this area ! Check all the big trees
OMG...you’re right!!!!
To the left coming at me!
How will I know if it’s right...I pick up all kinds of rocks...small ones...all the time?
I do not have a metal detector but seriously thinking about it after being on this site!!!!
Dig on the backside of those big boulders! Maybe find an indian artifact! That's an old inhabited place You're in a good spot for minerals! I don't how you found this place but it look awesome!
I have a tiny 68 Aristocrat and a 3500 Heavy Duty 4WD so I’m able to get in those spots no one gets to!!!!
I go to the regular camping spots and then drive around the old roads till I find a place that feels right and then I move in till I’ve seen enough and then off to the next!!! 8-]

Do you have a compass? Can you tell me which way the stream is flowing? The trees may not help much they don't look old enough ? Be nice if you saw a big hardwood tree with some carving!
The stream zig zags and I do have a compass.
I am up top and walk down to the area.
The trees are humongous...I’m 5’10” with long arms and when I hug them...most the time I only get halfway around.
That looks like it could be from a Juniper tree. Are there Junipers in the area? I know they grow in many places in southern Utah. If there are you can take some of the dead leaves light it on fire till it is burning good then blow out the flame, it will make a nice aromatic smoke that you smoke out your tent or vehicle leaving a nice smell. Do this in an old can or some metal container so embers don't catch something on fire. Some people don't like the smell but you might like it.
Yes, lots of junipers!!!
I think I’ll pass on burning them 8-/ ... there’s been a LOT of wildfires and it would be my luck and I have BAD allergies...so! You also forgot that they leak on you (sap)!!!
Well... I didn’t find gold...just these cool old tins and bottles from the opposite side of camp off one of the dry streams.
AND....(wait for it)... I ordered a metal detector!!!!
It should be in by Saturday!!!!
