So with the ground to hard to dig I decided to look for good, old places to metal detector when its warmer and discovered that my on back yard would be a good place to look. The house itself is over 90 Years old and that got me thinking. If some was to lose ONLY 10 coins a year since the house was built then there would be near about NINE HUNDRED coins in my yard, and that's only ten coins a year. what if more was lost? Anyways what about you? Have you ever found any notable items in your backyard? Tell us about them. And if you have not looked DO IT. Who knows what kind of treasure has been under you feet for all these years.

Some of my hubby's and my BEST finds have been in our own front and back yard!!! Off the top of my head - WW2 military buttons, over 50+wheaties, Old military cap pin, 1800 Elgen gold pocket watch, assorted old silver and gold jewlery, some silver coins, old railroad spikes, ALL kinds of clad, and last but not least an old dog tag with the name "Remington" on it! (Not one of our former pets and we've lived here 20+ years!)...Funny but we all try to go somewhere "new and different" about each weekend and almost NEVER find anything as interesting if not valuable as stuff found in our own back yard!!! Our house is dated to have been built in 1928.
