I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

Hey everyone,

Been a good three months since my last post. It was by far the worst summer here in P.a in the past 10 yrs. I did very little hunting here this summer. It was so hot dry and miserable you couldn't hunt. I also got a promotion at work about 2 months back and I have been very busy.

So with the combo of the 2 I haven't been out a whole lot until the past few weeks. Don't get me wrong I would get out here and there for a few hrs but that was about it. This is my time of yr to get out again in full force. I started getting up really early on the weekends and putting some time in again.

I have made a few decent finds but most of the time it was just a few keepers here and there. However I came across a great site guys. But unfortunately it was off limits. It was a city park in a very wealthy neighborhood. I was there no more than 10 minutes and pulled out 2 mercs and a LC. My brother pulled a merc and my son a half dollar.

Then all the sudden here comes a cop car. He pulls up and says this park is off limits. We basically begged and pleaded with the officer to let us stay. But he said because of politics basically we couldn't hunt this park. If we did we would have gotten a 25.00 dollar fine. I said to him well just write me my fine and I will see you later lol.

I tried hard to get permission for the site but got no call back on it. Bummer because I have a feeling this place was loaded. It was a very beautiful park to. Oh well I had to move onto other sites. I probably would have found 150 silvers by now if that park would have been open to hunt. I was told it was for walking and relaxing not treasure hunting it's all bull.

Still gets under my skin though. I pulled a LC out at 13 with the spectra. I was really impressed. But the soil conditions were some of the best I ever saw. It really is a shame they will let items just rot away than let me recover them and restore them for the future. Nothing to rare but enough to keep me going.

These past few weekends have been really good to me. I have pulled out about 50 old coins in the past 6 hrs in the field. I really am starting to get the spectra down pat. Pretty soon here I will be getting into some foundations when all this stuff dies out. Once again it has been as really bad hot and dry season.

I see just a small window this fall here to be open for hunting. I am going to make the best of it. Good luck to all and thanks for viewing.

HH Jer

Re: I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

Thanks alot guys,

Yes, I haven't forgot about this park. Maybe one day huh. Wish I knew someone of importance in that neighborhood. Bad thing is the entire park is grass and big old oak tree's spaced all out. Nothing acessible and you can be seen from the rd in any direction. I guess if I really wanted to I could night hunt the place. Maybe one day when it gets really hard to pull a old coin. But for now I can still find them in places that are ok to hunt.

I thought about trying to track the owner of this ring. I would say They would be around 88 yrs old if they are still around. People out there think they just own everything. Your already rich can't you just let a few younge guys enjoy themselves at the park on a sunday ya know.

Hang in there xpress. It is not so much the unit. It is the location and user. Don't get me wrong I can find much more with a v3 than I can say a ace 250. It is simplified so well on the top end units compared to the lower ends. Better target analization plus a bunch of other factors that let the user know what he has the coil over. You find some untouched sites and that f4 will have no problem seeking them out.

Take care guys

Jer

I think my wife lost her ring in that park about 5 years ago. Would the town officials let you help try and find it for her?

Re: I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

DANG!! what a come back! No wonder it took so long...all the research you must of done to find that hunny hole took some time

Re: I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

Thanks guys,

Lol Let me know about that ring. I will go look for it asap. That would be a good excuse to use. I bet there is a way to get into that park somehow.

I research alot. But it is getting harder each yr. I feel that it is starting to get to small around here. To much developement anymore in the city. The history is here but the land is dissapearing. Getting harder to gain permission also anymore. People just don't trust people anymore.

Re: I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

Congrats on the silver Jer3V!

I'm more interested in something you didn't go into further: that coin/token just to the right of the Sacagawea dollar, with the hole in it: what is it?

Re: I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

Re: I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

Welcome back JerV! Its good to see you posting again. It sucks to have a good site taken from you like that, I know, but it looks like you're doing pretty good despite that fact. In Virginia, City parks are suppose to be fair game unless otherwise stated "No Metal Detecting" (Ideally)....But you do run into those police who disregard that and still send you packing :-\ Anyway, Congrats bud on a bunch of SILVER and other nice finds! Doesn't look like they slowed you down much  :icon_thumright:

Re: I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

Re: I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

What about the dog tag? You can't tell me you didn't at least do a reverse phone number search on it? The number is unpublished just outside of Baldwin. Sometimes when someone loses a dog, even having something as simple as the tag brings comfort. I'd give it a call and see...

Re: I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

Yeah I hear ya, the ground this summer was as hard as in the winter!

Some great finds you got there :headbang: HH

Re: I'm Back 23 Silvers 12 Indians LC 1940 Class Ring And More

Hey thanks alot guys.

Nice to be back at it again in the colder temps. Yeah seems anymore like cops are throwing us out of places left and right. Everyday I come on t-net and read a story of a cop telling someone they can't hunt a park.

Do people really have nothing to do with there lives anymore. So many miserable people out there. I know why but why try and make my life miserable also. Let me be I work and pay my taxes and wanna hunt a park I should be able to do that.

I have so many tags Bev. You are right I should start contacting the numbers to see if the owners would like the tags back as a keep sake.

Your right sentinel. I am very optimistic and will move on. There is so many coins and relics out there to still be found. I can't just stay stuck on one sight. I have numerous good hunting grounds like you guys do.

But it is nice when you find a great one. To bad that one is a no go. But your right that isn't gonna slow me down.

Take care guys

Jer
