Here in Michigan, if you park your foreign car in a park or public access area for some metal detecting and later come back to it you could find it damaged. Auto workers have lost their jobs and since they aren't shopping in stores, those people have lost their jobs too. Lawmakers are raising the income taxes and sales taxes. I need to metal detect more to pay for the increases. My neighbor that sometimes detects with me had his Honda vandalized and a note attached telling him to buy American while we were hunting a local park. My car wasn't touched. Even together we didn't find enough to pay for his deductable.

My Question is: Has anyone else run into this Shop American stuff?

I have a Plymoth so I havent had a problem. And Ya I have heard about it, not spacifically in parks though. Its everywhere!
But I found out that people in other states just dont realize or care what is going on here.

I believe allot of "foreign" cars are made in the US by US workers, correct? At least I thought so, and I also thought days like that were over.
Not to go on but, my wife and I adopted my daughter Kelly(Korean) when she was 4 months old, Now 23 years old and I couldn't count how may times we were asked why.........

50% of the cars manufactured in North America are what we call the "new domestics". That includes Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Suzuki, Mazda etc. Did you know that Honda has a huge presence in Alabama and Ontario Canada? Did you know that the Honda van and SUV are built in Canada? Did you know that the Hyundai Sonata was designed, engineered, tested and built 100% in the USA?

Most people don't know that. So these ignorant people that damage other people's cars because they are too stupid to learn the facts should get the crap beat out of them for what they have done.

Some argue that the money goes back to the other countries, so that's what hurts us. Truth is that there are shareholders spread globally, so that argument is moot. I believe in buying products that your neighbors build, because that puts food on their tables. But look into it before you resort to criminal behavior to prove your point.

With the prices of NEW vehicles, any purchase I make is usually at least 4-5 yrs old. Car prices, like everything else, have skyrocketed. While you pay for the necessities, a new car is not on top of the list. But, now a new Metal detector, that's another story.

The UAW is why we have $6,000 cars selling for $15,000 today. Check out the prices on new, full-sized pickups. There is absolutely no way a fully loaded Ford, Chevy, or Dodge pickup should cost $35,000 PLUS.
The unions are where you'll find forklift drivers being paid $18 and hour.
