If I want boring ol' copper all I gotta do is turn on the Xterra Fitty!

So it was back to the same site that made me "almost" wanna shoot myself!
(Instead of shooting myself that day, I decided to dig an 1891 Seated dime...)

Today I found a little more of the same modern projectiles that plagued me during the last hunt at this location

Then a nice strong signal just about 4" down...an old earring!

Of course I had to break the post cleaning it, DOH
Let that be a lesson to all the other newbies out there, EASY does it.

Then last but certainly not least some boring ol' copper!
An 1851 Laaaarrrge Cent

That is my third trip to that site and my third 1800's coin from there!
(1884 IH, 1891 Seated Dime, 1851 LC)

What a nice old large cent! Can't tell you how many pieces of stuff I've broken off while trying to either clean them or identify them. Lucky for me I don't find the good stuff that often. There isn't nothing quite like finding one of those large cents in good condition. I suppose were I to find one down here it would be nothing but a round piece of rust and crust. Good photos too! Thanks for sharing.

What a nice old large cent! Can't tell you how many pieces of stuff I've broken off while trying to either clean them or identify them. Lucky for me I don't find the good stuff that often. There isn't nothing quite like finding one of those large cents in good condition. I suppose were I to find one down here it would be nothing but a round piece of rust and crust. Good photos too! Thanks for sharing.
