We found a old hydraulic mining operation and we are trying to ID the age or approx date of use
on this location is a water pipe and fittings with the raised letters " TN " about 24 to 36 inches apart along the length along with couplers (unions). and the last time anyone was maybe near this spot they left ( I hope they left it ) a leather jacket imbossed with " Steel 5 " logo on front and a tag on collar from "Chardonay " along with a removeable pop top soda can.

Wow, that's different! Google is fighting me to use the word Chardonay as to going to great lengths of changing it for me if I click on next page :o Aside from that, it looks 70's to me. I think the pop can may be a bigger clue here. I think the removable tops went out around 75-76 but that's not saying it's not an older can. Do you have a pic of the can?

I hope they left it

LOL. There is always that other possibility :o Stranger things have happened.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I think the TN is Tennessee.

upon further poking around we found a MAX- HEADROOM coke can with a 1986 trade mark print on it. now at least we know it was maybe 1986 + was the possible last time it was visited but we still think this originally was dug in the 1930's according to the bethleham steel tools we found on site and once in every few years when someone stumbled upon it like my brother did poking around off the beatin' path.
