Posted this up for someone and the question gets asked a lot.
So, screened some out yesterday through a 100 mesh screen.
Thought this gave a good perspective.

Thanks, Doc. Good reference pic.

Mighty Fine, so to speak! Indeed, a great reference picture, especially like the table salt...................63bkpkr

Hey Doc
Will your washer mats catch these fines from my cons? Getting ready to test the washer mat, hopefully this weekend!
Thanks

Yes, that's what they're from.
I screened the gold from the run in the video below.
Nice thing is it catches a wide range, but the REAL benefit is it's main use... STRIPPING ability.
If you set it up correctly, 100 gallons per inch, and about 12 degrees, you'll see the same thing.
Almost pure gold in the first two mats, then less and less.
We pan out the mat in sections and we're done.
Most find it runs about 96 - 99% on the first run and takes about a gallon of cons down to roughly 3 tablespoons in 10 - 15 minutes.
It's just cool stuff to run.
There is also a testing thread on our support forum showing the progress of the mat over time, and a bunch of testing runs from all over.
Doc

I have a half ounce vial with about close to a gram of 100 plus mesh gold makes me wonder how many pieces are in it.

A lot............... LOL

Here's the count results.
I brought it into photoshop and "dotted out" every piece.
1/2 grain had roughly 769 pieces.
769 pieces sub 100 mesh in .50 grains.
769 x 2 = 1538 per grain......
1538 x 15.43 = 23,731 pieces per gram.
31.1 x 23,731 = 738,044 in an ounce.

Not "exact science" but good example.
